I am owed some money and have taken out a third party debt order and there will be a court hearing.

Has anybody attended one? If so any advice would be welcome.

Will I be required to give evidence?
Approximately how long do they last?

Any other advice?

I don’t expect the defendant to show up but just in case I would like to be prepared.

Thanks.

No personal experience, but from what I have seen on the TV , just turning up (and the other party not ) usually means it goes in your favour

I should imagine so! if it's a small claims type case they are pretty informal hearings, but I would cerainly bring what evidence you can that the money is owed, and evidence you have made reasonable attempts to get paid before resorting to court.
