We’re heading home from BPW today and looking for somewhere to have a nice walk and a decent cafe for some Welsh rarebit - somewhere broadly in this radius. Please help STW Welsh tourist board!
If you are heading home along the M4 then St Fagans National Museum could fit the bill.
If you’re taking the Heads of the Valleys, you cold do worse than Abergavenny. A walk up/around Sugarloaf, Skirrid or Blorenge, followed by food in town (full of cafes and eateries).
Be warned though - the hills and car parks to access the hills will be packed!
Abergavenny vineyard tour and cafe
Llanthony priory + cafe
Four waterfalls walk is ace!

Probably a cafe/pub nearby.
Waterfalls area on a bank holiday won't be a relaxing experience 😆
Hay on Wye and walk up river to the meadows. Loads of cafes in town, Oscars and Booths good, deli too.
Wentwood Forest
Chepstow Castle
I agree waterfall walks will be bedlam for parking. Llanthony is a good shout but steep walks (great views) so if knackered maybe just drive over Gospel Pass to Hay on Wye. Wentworth Forest or Wenallt are good shouts for what should be quieter and the bluebells should be starting to come out. The Big Pit and Iron works outside Abergavenny are really interesting if you like industrial heritage.

Definitely recommend this if you've never been, free to get in but there is a charge for parking.
For food, Morgans Wine Bar in Ebbw Vale. Yes seriously. Though the menu may be limited on a Sunday.
Ive always fancied visiting the Big Pit, in the next (but one?) valley at Blaenavon. Free entry, so maybe worth a visit and a walk around if you are in the area and have a couple of hours free.
The Big Pit
Another vote for the Big Pit and Blaenavon Ironworks.
Gospel Pass is closed half way along due to a landslide.
