Evening All
We're spending the weekend in Ullswater and still have a spare day on Saturday to fill so I'm wondering if anybody has any recommendations?
My wife isn't massively into outdoors stuff and so trail running, cycling etc are all out. We're also going llama trekking on Sunday (seriously) so that will likely fulfil the walking part of our trip.
I'm thinking we could go on the steamer boat on the lake, or even rent a boat, visit Arya Force or perhaps Penrith.
I'm wondering if there are any decent pubs, villages or towns worth visiting near the lake? Or anything really obvious that I'm missing?
We're staying in the Howtown Hotel in Howtown but will have the car.
Any thoughts gratefully received...
Take a dip in Brotherswater, or just walk around it on the flat path.
Get in car and drive to Castlerigg stone circle. Pencil museum in Keswick,!!!
Wouldn't bother with Penrith. You're better off having a drive over Kirkstone to Ambleside if you want to go to a town.
Walk up Hallin Fell is dead easy. Place Fell excellent if you want to be slightly more ambitious.
Couple of pubs at Glenridding and you can get the boat over to there. Few more at Pooley Bridge down at the bottom of the lake.
You can combine a visit to Aira Force with a walk up Gowbarrow Fell.
Cheers guys, they all sound like doable suggestions!
