Seems that the only safe exposure (ahem) of royals is via a regular release of a staged photo. BBC are contractually obliged to cover the latest "Royal x marks occasion with a new photo!" non-story. What is going on here?
What royal photos.... Actually I don't give a sh1t about the royals
Maybe a tag line of something like "You give us £10k a week so we can hire great photographers, thanks for your continued support" would be appropriate.
Marketing, they are a brand and a business, could be worse, they could be making cringe worthy Tik Toks.
Kind of a lost point without specific examples and context, but you think it's just the royals who do that?
I guess it's partly brand and partly the deal to protect the kids. Remember the paparazzi were involved in Diana's death, it's a sensitive subject on both sides.
Though of the many reasons to have a go at the royals, this is quite a long way down the list.

At a guess, nothing different to what has been happening since the invention of photography and newspaper journalism and an ongoing interest in the Royal Family.
Far better official photos than something hashed up by the paps and/or some jackass with an AI app.
Would you rather official photos of a President like Diaper Don, or Putin?

No idea what you’re talking about.
Apologies, I was pissed when I started this and forgot I did. What I mean is, the royals seem to have got into a habit of releasing the latest photo of themselves. Today was slightly different, it's a drawing! We pay for these buggers.

Releasing photos, paintings and drawings of the Royals isn’t something new.

Having a report on BBC news almost every night about what the Royals have done today is pretty new though. The kids' scribbles were on, there were several reports about them visiting places last week which were barely worthy of local news, never mind national news. I noticed that Kate joined a school trip last week, where several of the children didn't know that she's a real life princess (!) but the pre-assembled press corps obviously did. And then she jumped in her limo to go home because she wasn't really on a school trip, just on a carefully managed photo opportunity.
It says a lot that ITV news is now less tabloid than BBC.
Glad it's not just me who has noticed this IdleJon. Definitely a new strategy to publicise them, probably as mitigation for pervy uncle Andrew.
