Currently 27% are over 90kg
If only we were all vegan, that would solve it.
There could be a lot of tall well built people, unlikely but you never know.
I'm not Vegan, and I weigh 73 odd kg, maybe if most of you weren't middle aged that would solve it 😉
Or over 6'5".
Edit: too slow..
Maybe if everyone is 4ft tall. The poll takes no account of height.
Edit: To slow
Since when did heavy equal fat? But I'm guessing you know that anyway 😉
Maybe if everyone is 4ft tall. The poll takes no account of height.
You'd need to be pretty tall for 90kg to be a "desirable" weight.
As Cupra says, no idea of peoples height, wins the most stupid pointless poll on STW comp. I'm 5'10" and 82kgs BTW
I'm 5'10" and over 90kgs with no excuses. Just eat wa-a-a-y too f-ing much.
Somebody hide the biscuits.
Please.
deliberate and offensive trolling. against forum rules. naughty boy. back in your vegan basket.
😆 @ Phil!
maybe if most of you weren't middle aged that would solve it
Yeah, must get a grip and sort my age out.
A tall 97kg
Over weight: check
Middle aged: check
Job in IT: check
i might just fit in?!? 😉
cake

Quite. I'd rather have a bit of extra cuddly warmth than be that ill-looking scrawny bag of bones that kept flying past us at SITS 😀
I'm a fatty, so what?
Phil - This forum ain't big enough for two aspiring moderators!
Over weight: check
Middle aged: check

I think I've had my identity stolen....
i'll stop when you help me with bike stuff yeti 😀
we all know this is an excuse for him to discuss the benefits of being a vegan and then post pictures of some vegan sports people, possibly even himself and his buddies in the 'vegan body building and random object lifting inside a small schools PE hall competition' if we're lucky.
i'd report it if it wasnt so delightfully quaint
6ft
92kg
31 years old
9% body fat.
Weight doesn't tell you everything. Or indeed anything in isolation.
Sounds to me like there are a lot of weak, sand-kicked-in-eyes, beanpoles 😉
Okay, I won't report you just yet.
I was thinking the thread had already gotten quite long without a picture of a vegan. Strangely most of them look a little out of shape, sort of flabby if you know what I mean.
To balance up my argument, here's a picture of me from lunchtime...
yeah, of course no-ones overweight, just underheight......
oooh, is it jam or cream on top of my scone
oooh, how many litres of sugar drink for a 2 hour sunday pootle
oooh, cake'n'beer beer'n'cake cake'n'beer beer'n'cake
......bloaters 🙄
27, 6ft 3" 95kg with not much fat - and im pretty fit. so there 😆

Theres nothing wrong with being fat, but it does ruin the image of mountain biking. So if you want to be fat, dont be a mountain biker.
dont be a mountain biker
Or at least hang around at the top of the hill, rather than in the car park.
I'm big boned.
45kg 160cm
Bunch of fatties!
I'm a road biker too, and I wear lycra, so what?
I also like cake, smoke cigars and drive too fast. I'm not convinced that there are many activities that I'm not ruining the image of. I enjoy it all the same
45kg 160cm
That's an awfully large waist measurement for only 45kg
did you make sure you had both feet on the scales?
I'm 6'5" but ain't a 'fattie' so don't jump to conclusions.
Vegans will be too weak to move the mouse to click on their weight anyway.
45kg 160cm
Yeah... but I can go outside when it's windy.
LOLing at uplink. Have to stand one leg at a time on the scales. Lol
Have to stand one leg at a time on the scales. Lol
I've actually seen my daughter try that
I've always believed that round shapes are more aerodynamic 😀
Besides, I can get up the steepest hills with the best of them and when it comes to going downhill I can use gravity to my advantage.
6'5' and 80kg
to be fair, its not just on here...
would be nice if it could be compared to national stats.
45kg and 150cm (obviously a fatter version of emsz 😳 )
Emsz - can we be 'Team Lightweights' with elfinsafety at some point? 🙂
I'm surprised so many people know how much they weigh.
Currently 27% are over 90kg
A quick Google suggests that about a quarter of the male population is over 90kg, so this isn't entirely surprising.
Only girls are under 90kg aren't they? And midgets I suppose.
I'm surprised so many people know how much they weigh.
Why...?
I am pastry positive
*rubs tum*
Muscle is denser than fat.
Of course most STWs are fatties, it comes with being middle aged and middle class. (Actually have you noticed? With wealthy people the husband is usually fat and the wife skinny, with poor people the man is usually a beanpole and the woman is a fatty?)
Oh yeah.
I'm 5'10", and probably about 11st / 70kg. I don't know exactly because I don't overly care.
Cake is delicious.
6'4", 200lbs = BMI = 24.
Is beer denser than muscle? Must be.
No matter your weight, if you are a man and wear lycra, it looks unpleasant.
This comes from the guy who has 'broken 4 frames in 13 months', a thread in which he declares
'I'm 95kg
I'm also 95kg, thus far, I have managed to not inflict breakage on my frame.... I think is down to my Jaycore approach to my Blobbycore riding style....
Right, where did I put that family bag of crisps..... 🙂
Why...?
Not sure, probably because i've never owned a set of scales, nor does my gf, or parents growing up. Are they of real use? Surely if you're losing weight you can see it coming off? Dunno...
Every time I go to the docs these days I seem to have to be weighed, have my belly circumference measured and my beer consumption queried, they don't seem particularly bothered about height for some reason
6ft 6" - 93kg - 24 yr - 13% body fat - a fair bit quicker up and down than most people i have ever come across on the trails

*fap* *fap* *fap*
Chris Hoy is 92kg
About 80* of which appears to rest on his thighs..... 😯
*potential exaggeration content.... 😉

Because your height isn't going to change now you're all grown up?
I had to rush past that last post on my work browser, I'm a fattie too!
Recent comment from the nurse carrying out a cholesterol check: "Well for the amount of riding you do it's suprising you carry so much weight." My reply was "Well I eat a lot of cake too".
My cholesterol was fine by the way, thanks for your concern 🙂

Mine has, I'm about half inch shorter than I was 20 years ago

I'd guess that's because measuring peoples heights doesn't net the practice a juicy payment when they meet a certain target?
I'd guess that's because measuring peoples heights doesn't net the practice a juicy payment when they meet a certain target?
I guess - but I would have thought that my height would have been a prerequisite to working out whether or not I was over or under some graph plot somewhere
Just over 91 kgs. Only about average height. Maybe a few extra lbs of fat but certainly not a fatties. I'm also a nice enough person to wait for my riding buddies at the top and bottom of each and every hill.
Thanks for the interest but i love myself far too much to love anyone else too.
My point was more that weight doesn't make someone 'fat' or 'slow' but i guess i did put across in a 'i love myself' kinda way. To be fair i bloody do. If you don't love yourself how can you expect someone else to?

Depends on whether they need to set up their suspension or not.

Where did you draw that ridiculous assumption from?
I'm not a burd, I'm 6', 57, and weigh 185lb, around 84kg.
*sigh*
My weight bounces between 74kg and 94kg. Goddamn poor self control.
If you don't love yourself how can you expect someone else to?
That's a STW monster thread in the making.
I might just be the monster to start that one...
Is this about increased trail errosion?
I might just be the monster to start that one...
You would be the natural candidate, young man.
It'll give me a chance to add all my tags again so it looks like people care about me 🙂
