Been swimming lots lately due to a broken ankle and been using a pair of old goggles I've had since I was about 12. They leak quite a lot, so was going to treat myself to a new pair.

Instagram immediately realised what I was upto and powwww... I discovered https://themagic5.com/

They offer an app which claims to scan your face, and then 3D print a set of seals onto a set of their goggles for perfect fit. They're pricier than your average set of goggles sure...

...but what has set my alarm bells ringing is all the slight desperation of the language on the website "This item is going fast, so grab it while you still can! Here's 10% off - use code cart10website at checkout." kind of stuff.

I also can't find a proper magazine review done by anyone, and although there are a few YouTube reviews, there hasn't been one done by anyone particularly well known. There are dozens of glowing reviews on their website...but it all seems a little too glowing.

What do the great unwashed of STW think? Has anyone tried a pair? Am I just going to get sent a regular set of goggles, and be under the impression I've had something custom done? Are these better than a new set of speedos?

Yep, I have 3 pairs for open water and will never buy anything else now.
two others I swim with have them too (one for them in the original kickstarter)
Def the most comfortable goggles I have ever worn and they don't feel like they are sucking my eyeballs out of my head. Wear them pretty loose and I can do fly without any concern or leaks.
It is worth playing to see which of the nose pieces fit the best.

I have a pair. They are quite commercially pushy .. even after you've bought some they keep trying to get you to buy more.

Got them last year, and although I've tried bigger mask-style goggles I keep coming back to the magic5s as they really are comfy. It did take a while to get used to them but that's probably due to my inexperience with that type of goggles.

Support was good too. They sorted out a problem with the scan and order, and sent me a new pair really quickly (reprinted from the same scan) when the gasket broke on the first pair.
