Established in 1885, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is the largest human care organization in Dallas. There are 23 branches of the Dallas YMCA with an additional two camps, Camp Grady Spruce and Collin County Adventure Camp. Seven countries are served by the Dallas YMCA and it operates 102 program sites.

Their mission is to put Christian values into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Their vision is to become the premier human development agency in North Texas to teach values to kids, to strengthen and support families, to help teenagers to make transition into adulthood and to create safe environments that allow individuals to develop total health. They accomplish their mission through programs that build character. By demonstrating and teaching positive values they build character. Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are their core values.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Youth and Government has influenced teens for more than 60 years. Youth and Government give teens an exciting hands-on experience in the mechanics of the state legislative and judicial proves of the government. The high school teens and middle school youth get to study and debate public issues. They get a chance to participate in mock trial, write legislation or experience creating a news broadcast/newspaper. Students also get to participate in their local District Conference and culminate the experience in a four day state conference in Austin, Texas. This is a once in a life time experience for some students while for some it is the beginning of a career.
