I must admit I'm finding this reality trash TV show absolutely fascinating.

It's got pretty nasty pretty quickly.

Same here. I'm a bit glued, the concept is a bit different too, which helps.

Wonder which twisted mind came up with the idea!

Is it just live action Werewolf? That's what it sounded like from the trailer.

Me too. Best reality/trash tv in quite a while.

It's Among Us mixed with Lord of the Flies, with a bit of the Stanford prison experiment thrown in. I'm hooked.

I'd love to know how the production works - other than the task, what do they do all day?! It does feel like they're genuinely in the dark...

It's Battle Royale but unfortunately without the bloodshed as it's on BBC

Different shows. The one on the BBC is a reality game show.

I flicked over to BBC the other night and it was on - I had no idea what was going on, but noted that there were quite a few people crying so I gave up and went to bed with a book. Wife stayed up and watched it, she now reckon's that despite it being a reality/game show, you have to watch the episodes in the right sequence for it to make sense.

Like other comments I can’t leave it alone either 🙄 our daughter said “ You don’t usually watch stuff like this “ it’s true but as a study in human behaviour it’s fascinating. I’m not sure if I hate myself for getting caught up ! 🙄😞

I'm enjoying it and the concept seems fresh rather than tired like I'm a celeb and others that have gone on too long.

There is a good mix of personality types although though some are a bit excruciating. My tip for the win is the Welsh, female estate agent.

I started to watch it last night on the basis of this thread.

Not the usual sort of telly I'd choose, to be honest.

I finally went to bed at 4:30am........

Thats how much fun it is, watching a bunch of entitled Gen Z and millenials who all think they're cleverer than they are, tearing each other apart tearfully, yet gleefully.

I've never got into any reality tv before (not being snobbish, horses for courses etc) but the kids and I are absolutely gripped by this.

I think I love the drama.👀

Scenery isn't bad either, waiting for it to start raining.

The Wolf Game? Thats exactly it - flippin ace game to play at big family get togethers and stuff.

For anyone interested given Christmas is approaching and you likely be forced to spend time with your extended family, here is the general gist of it.

1 x storyteller
2 x wolves
# x villagers

Need about 10+ probably for it to be good.

Story teller gives everyone a card. On the card is drawn/written "villager"/"wolf".

Story teller sets the scene, sends everyone "to bed" (close your eyes) and then the wolves enter the village (the two wolves open their eyes but remain silent). Together, they point/look at a person they want to kill.

Morning comes, everyone wakes up apart from the villager that was killed. Then starts the discussion of who the wolves are. Everyone votes (apart from the dead person/people) and whoever gets most votes is out the game and must expose themselves to be a wolf/villager.

And repeat.

Game ends when both wolves are caught or the wolves kill all the villagers. Brill game but doesn't have Claudia Winkleman 🙁

Forgot, we also play with a "see-er". Once the wolves have gone on their killing spree each night, the see-er can wake up and indicate to the story teller a person they'd like to know the identity of. They can then use this to sway the discussions the following day. Obviously they can just say "you're a wolf, I'm the see-er and I know it" after which they'll likely be promptly killed by a remaining wolf 🙂

For those who have been taken in by this, would you rather the traitors win or the faithful?

I reckon Wolf is scared of Amanda and for good reason.

apparently this totally took over the training camp for the England world cup squad, the werewolves game I mean. My kids used to play it but called it Mafia - there was also a doctor that could heal someone, so if the mafia killed someone and the doctor (randomly) chose them they were then not killed. ISTR the doctor usually opted to save themselves (hey, it was kids playing and not so much strategising going on)

Not the outcome I was hoping for, but I reckon he'll get the chance to earn a few quid off the back of the show anyway.

That's what I'd hoped for 👍 he didn't deserve to take the whole lot . I think he realised that and acted up to give them hints so redeemed himself in the end .

Great series at a fantastic location.
Good result.
Would have been wrong for Wilf to get the lot I think.

This will be an annual thing now to rival Bake Off, I'm a (wannabe), etc

Enjoyed it.

I think Wilf was genuine when he said what he did when he lost.

I don't think it works in this day and age of social media - if Wilf had won there would have been a massive SM pile on. Plus if I was a Faithful I'd have bludgeoned him to death with Claudia's fringe before he had chance to leave with his massive gold chocolate coins.

I laughed.

We finally finished it last night (so I had been avoiding this thread). I thought it was a great premise but some of it made me cringe a bit. So happy that the Faithful won – I'd have been gutted if Wilf had won and I don't believe for a minute he was genuinely upset – he'd have 100% loved to have won. I really liked Chorlton Aaron.

I thought it was a bit like Secret Hitler (which is, I assume, similar to Wolf Game). So Wolf Game is on my list to get now.

Anyone watching the US version (on iplayer, not sure about freeview)?

Identical concept with a load of vacuous yanks.

Watched episode 1. Surprised they didn't remake it entirely and instead just flew them to Scotland, but I guess this way is a lot lower budget and feels "more exotic". Alan really is hamming it up, and the missing 20 minutes from the episodes thanks to adverts really is noticeable. It didn't grab us as the first UK episode did, but maybe that's party because it's too familiar and partly because of overly dramatic/confident Americans.

Ah yes hadn't noticed the lost time for ads! Strange how they've gone for minor celebs.

bit late to the party but we just binged the whole thing over the weekend 😂
Don't agree with the "trash tv" label at all, seemed very fresh (like when BB first came to the UK all those years ago!) and unlike anything else on at the moment - not that I'd normally watch reality TV!) and tbh I've done been so much on the edge of my seat since GoT, it really was fascinating/compelling to watch. Provided a really interesting insight into how people think & react and was fun trying to guess which way the contestants would go; there's certainly a lot more programs on telly that are just brainless garbage!

Unlike most here I would've liked to see Wilf take the money (he might even have split it anyway, you never know 🤷‍♂️) as he played an absolute blinder the whole show & fooled almost everyone almost all the time. You can't even argue that he was a "baddie" because he was just doing what was asked of him by the show! He came across as very likeable/genuine too but was a fantastic actor (budding new career maybe? 😂) In contrast the three who won, whilst I was pleased for them as they all seemed like nice people, were completely clueless the entire time and certainly didn't "deserve" the win in the sense of having played the game well.

I think Wilf was robbed actually as he was stitched up by Keiron right at the end, purely out of spite. I'm sure he would've gotten away with it otherwise as it was only those couple of snide cryptic comments that gave it away. Keiron was so arrogant and thought he was the dogs bollocks but - like almost everyone else - was outplayed by the younger lad and his ego just couldn't handle it. He was terrible both at hunting the traitors & being a traitor himself - almost instantly cracked under the pressure.

I'm sure it'll return next year but not so sure that's a good thing! They'll inevitably ratchet things up to keep it exciting but either a) we'll get bored anyway or b) someone will snap and actually murder someone 🤣 The fact that none of the contestants really knew what was going on made it quite genuine whereas subsequent seasons are going to attract game-players. Plus, you could see it was really hard mentally for a few of them (one of the contestants has already pleaded for any else considering it to think really carefully about that aspect!) so personally I think best left as a one-off albeit successful experiment.
