More satisfying, surely? But only if you've earned it.

What exactly do you have to do to 'earn' a second cup?

'I am just a fat boy and my kettle's seldom cold'.
As S & G so eloquently put it.

I always make 2.....that way if the first was really good I can immediately have another.

Second is always better, I get to drink it. First one goes cold getting kids sorted, second one is in the car on way to work, peace and quite with good radio, bliss. My car is my sanctury these mornings

I make a travel flask of green tea first thing when I get to work; too hot to do more than take tiny sips from without blistering your mouth, as actual experience has vividly proven, but it's still hot enough to drink six hours later.
That's made with hot water from one of those whizzy hot/cold tap hobbies, not an actual kettle.

Those Hot Tap / Cold Tap machines are the sperm of the devil.
Despite all manner of adjustments we can't get ours much hotter than about 85c, so your tea/coffee actually has a froth. You can practically neck the whole cup straight from the stupid pathetic POS.

Give me a kettle any day.

Back to business at hand though, are we talking from the same pot here...?
If so, then I tend to agree.

I bet I go through 6 - 8 cups of tea during the working day.
Is that too much ? 😀

I accidentally only put one bag in the pot when making tea for two. It was weak. The second cup was better.

Sport Direct pint mug

False economy: Fill it up with boiling water, the handle breaks off. Then its no cups of tea. Disaster!

Is it just me, or does a mahoosive cup of tea not taste as good as from a regular size mug? Taste seems to get worse towards the end, like the larger amount of milk in play makes a taste difference (and I like my tea strong).

So 2 regular mugs > 1 mahoosive mug
