I mean, I've been careful in the past to admitting what FB is advertising at me for fear of revealing my browsing history, but this one has me baffled, every day I feel like I'm blocking various profiles dedicated to the 'good' Royals e.g. not the Sussexes. Worse yet it's mostly cutesy pics of Charlotte and George (?) and very 'Hello' magazine pics of Kate.

They seem to spawn faster than I can block them, as do for that matter the profiles with slightly odd Indian names showing me clips from random movies, usually along the theme of bullies getting their commupance at the hands of a Denzel Washington or Jackie Chan type.

What's going on, are FB's algorithms broken?

Pro-monarchy propaganda in overdrive to counter Harry's revelations I expect.

I'm definitely getting some. A mix of outright royalist "isn't the new king great" and "look at these adorable kids", and every single mention of Harry is incredibly negative. Someone or someones has paid facebook to push it to people, have no doubt. I think in the algorithms I probably show up as "someone who doesn't care" - so that'll put me in the "possibly influencable" column. No point spamming a royalist or a frothing republican (which I am, I just don't do it on fb)

The surprising thing is how cheap this stuff is, we used to do loads of minor "thumb on the scales" stuff with facebook and google and even a budget of a few thousand quid could put a message in front of a lot of very specifically targeted people. Though, equally, if another institution paid them the exact same to do the same thing it'd cancel out.

Nor mine TJ.

Oh, hold on I'm no longer a Twitter or Facebook user. That would be why I'm not seeing it. 🙂

I have been getting few. Assumed it was linked to places I've worked at over the years.

They have stopped over the last few days. I didn't open or block any as far as I'm aware, as it interests me as much as any other advert for something/someone I have no interest in.
I just scroll past it all.

I haven't had any adverts for weeks either.  I keep on trying to eff up their algorithms by reporting every ad.  it seems to work at least temporarily

Nothing on mine.

Mine neither, and by the standards of this place I'm a flag shagging Royalist.

I do enjoy lots of photos of cute dogs 🤷‍♂️
