Seem to be more and more and more of these lately. Any chance they can either be shot into space or have a separate sub-forum in classifieds?

I don't understand why people have to apologise before asking a question, drives me up the wall it does!

Sorry but why does it drive you up the wall?

i apologised before hand as some people seem to find the posts offensive. Ive four bikes i could do with pricing up tbh none are standard builds so its pretty difficult for me to price 🙂

terribly sorry to correct you but I think you will find that it's a typically English self-effacing stance. If you don't understand this you are obviously a johnny foreigner, most likely a brash, coffee drinking American. 😉

2 problems with them. It.s annoying to see them when you yourself have to make a reasonable fist of valuing your own stuff to sell. Other folk just stick a quick stealth ad in the bike section where it invariably gets wee bit more attention.
Secondly there's a rule about not paging other users cos it hogs bandwidth. Nothing about these type of posts.

I'm cynical enough to see it as a way of spamming an ad into a different forum.

I was going to suggest genuinely confused sellers use the search function to see what other similar bikes have gone for (if youve changed the spec its not rocket science to adjust up or down dependent on kit) but since it went to world leader google its dreadful.

And nearly as annoying are "testing the water" type advert threads. Its either for sale or its not.

Its either for sale or its not.

Unless the seller is having trouble locating a big enough box for his enormous rig.

I'm a bit cynical about them too, but I think most people who reply tend to undervalue things anyway - probably to teach the seller a lesson.

People invariably know what they want for something - so put it up for that and if it doesn't sell perhaps it is overpriced.

I hate the 'no idea what it is worth...offers?' then when a reasonable offer is made they say with utter conviction 'no way, it is worth far more'.

I thought there seemed to be less "what's it worth" threads recently, but perhaps I have selective vision with them?
