Mountain biking has become more popular amongst older generations as it offers everything you’d want from a ride – endurance, speed, skill

😀

I thought most of them had to push up the hills, and also go on a skills course just to learn how to jump?

I think many men are converting to mountain biking from road racing because, although there are obviously risks, they still feel safer riding down some insane downhill trail than trying to do battle with some of the lunatic drivers we have on our roads."

Ain't that the truth.

^this. One of the reasons I love road riding is because there are still lanes within striking distance of home that I've not yet explored. My from-the-door mountain biking tends to be the same bits over and over again (they are good bits though 🙂 )

'Rise of the muddy mamil'?

Surely most of us have always been doing this, middle age just caught up with us, except not in lycra.

How can you explore a road? It's a road.

You'll be taking pictures of man hole covers next.

Infotainment organs such as the Telegraph get everything wrong. Except baiting clicks. Which they get right. You want accuracy? Integrity? 😆 😆

How can you explore a road? It's a road.

How.can you withstand that level of pedantry? It's pedantry!

You can almost hear the sub-editor yawning as they cobble together this nonsense.
Downhill riding is an increasingly popular type of mountain biking says the caption to a picture of a lycra clad XC mincer on a hardtail 🙂

I explored a few roads in my racing days. Sometimes very closely, at speed 🙂

Remind me never to have any coaching at Antur Stiniog, dear old Bradley has only been riding a MTB for a couple of years.

I like that hardly any of the pics are in lycra, apart from the one dude obviously in an XC race that says "downhill is increasingly popular"
