You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
...is the wait.
I have what I hope will be a winning bid out on a road bike, which will by first in about 25 years, and I have to wait three days to know if it will become mine or not. ARRRGHHH!
Do something to distract me. Please.
EDIT: Yes, I have already ridden today. So that won't work.
Winning bid - 3 days from auction finish!?
Not a chance! 😀
Doing it wrong
To be fair, I have put in a highest bid that is well above the current bid level.
That's well and good, but doing that will naturally inflate the final price you end up paying...'bidnip' is your friend.
I don't use any sniping tools- it seems unsporting- but yep, always bid late.
Also, it can't hurt to message the seller and ask if they'll close early. 2 reasons for this... 1, they might, at a price you like and 2, they might close early for someone else, at a price you'd have paid. The second is annoying.
I don't snipe. I get lots of stuff at a price that I am happy to pay. I got a bargain this week after bidding 3 days before the end. The 'reserve' item I was watching sold for 3 times the price a day later
However; Message to the OP; You should move away from the internet for the next 3 days. If someone outbids you, shrug and move on...
PS if you contact the seller with a 'buy it now price', they might get their 'mate' to bid that amount to tempt you to bid more...
Good luck
Good luck
*edit - Sorry for double post, weirdness as I also typed:
Recently bought a really nice 1980s road bike as soon as it popped up for sale. That's the way I prefer do it - sort 'BIN, newly listed' (= no waiting)
