Hi,

Above Castleton in the very cold period winter of 2010/11 on the way to work. -17 on our weather station at work when I arrived, to the right of the bike was thigh deep snow, further on I used the bike as a snowshoe because the snow was above waist deep.

An eventful morning. I believe, as Paul snapped this shot of me up Man Tor, you were taking his Royal Pookness to hospital. And then there were 2....

Binners - I'm not sure the nags head has ever been described as hospital, but I was not well that day that's for sure. Yep, -17ish wasn't it?

skiprat - who's that?

The nags was probably a better option than hospital 😀

It was definitely the coldest conditions I've ever ridden in. Waaaaaaaaaaay below freezing! The route back done was 'interesting'. Chapel Gate was just sheet ice all the way down. The view was pretty spectacular up top though

****ing demoralising either way, struggle up the snow covered hills acting all winter hard man and then pushing/falling/sliding on your backside down the downhills. cringe.

is there an "attempt to" missing from the middle of that comment or shall I take steps to get your riding deity status formalised? 🙂

cavedale scares the bejesus out of me in the summer when there's just as much water but in the more usual liquid format.

DONK, these guys are sex on wheels. You'd better believe it.

They call skiprat El Butcho (The Butcher) as he makes mincemeat of gnarly trails.

Pooks special power/trail nickname is One sheet as he is plenty.

Podge is nicknamed snakehips as he charms trails into submission

Here they are earlier off the bike

Pook, Hora's right. Its me and Chin on the bottom bit. Think you lot were waiting for us.

Donk, we kind of rode/slid that bit. You ended up riding wider and on the bushes to keep going. To be honest i think we rode quite alot of it. Just don't grab a the brakes when riding stuff like that!!

Will- it was taken in the middle of the road- at the top between the dips looking downwards- dark/gloomy shot. Stunning though. Remember on FB I asked if I could nick it.

.duncan - nice pics. Love how the mood was captured on the last one 😆
