Is um, imposing looking?
I think I'd rather buy a Toureg and keep the change. That's a lot of coke and hookers. But then I suppose I'm missing the point since I'm not a millionaire.
The best colour they could think of to sell the car to the media is beige. That says enough about this gopping car to me.

I think you'll find that is "Gazelle".
Looks like a Lada Riva IMO
Beautifully crafted interior:

However the exterior is probably one of the least desirable designs of any SUV available at the moment to my eyes. Bulbous, fussy, messy.
In fact it's handy that they used a poo brown one in the video, because driving along, it reminded me of a big old Mr Hanky heading down the porcelain flume.
i've seen it driving round Nantwich, at first glance it resembles a Ssangyong Musso
Coming soon to a football training ground near you.
Bentley or Chrysler, I can't tell the difference anymore.
Looks butt ugly to me
hmm beige leather sofa
Horrendous
No doubt there will be loads of them knocking around Alderley Edge soon
God that's ugly.

My first thought was ... Austin Maxi....

I guess that we are not the target demographic, but if I was a Premier League footballer I'd chuck a week's wages at it.
HTS - not the target demographic? Surely us Tudor watch owners are the target 🙂
Harry_the_SpiderI guess that we are not the target demographic, but if I was a Premier League footballer I'd chuck a week's wages at it.
I get the impression there are a few people on here who could afford it. Whether simply being able to afford it makes you the target demographic though, I'm not sure. Perhaps you have to be extremely wealthy, and extremely tasteless.
I remember debating the merits of a £100,000 Porsche Cayenne with one of my friends who sold them. He was raving about it, but I couldn't see past the idea that to me, it represented a Boxster and a Range Rover (or whatever).
Drac- "God that's ugly."
I think you are going to see a few of these, at the scene of accidents where other car drivers have gouged out their own eyes.
I seen a few un badge ones out testing, and they are horrid. I really don't know what Bentley are thinking.
I pointed one out to the mrs spesh, that's the new Bentley SUV, "you're ******* joking!"
Meh, i'll pass & wait for the RR Cullinan.
That might be the most vulgar thing I've ever seen on 4 wheels.
Ah well, perhaps this is another sign that the financial storm of the last 7-8 years is over, 'bling' is back in.
Who designed that Rolls?
The same bloke who styled Ned Kelly?
It does look pretty hideous, but I'm sure lots of people will buy it.
Aren't a lot of Bentley sales now going to the Far East?
Perhaps it has been styled to fit in more with their culture/tastes than ours as they expect to sell more there? Just a thought.
Ah well, perhaps this is another sign that the financial storm of the last 7-8 years is over, 'bling' is back in.
The financial storm didn't really impact the target audiance
not for me thanks, it's the ridiculous size of cars that puts me off, just not compatible any more with the UK road infrastructure. however everyone likes different stuff, if you want one, happy days
they'll be popular in the gulf states, that gold-y beige-y colour for the promo may well have been chosen by the UAE sales teams

Is it any bigger than the other VAG cars it shares a platform with? Or a Range Rover?
Looks like a Chinese knock-off.
Looks safe...at least I wont injure myself when I crash into someone when pished.
Awful, and a range of just over 370 miles is pathetic. Still probably okay for your daily 6 miles of solid traffic jam in London, Doha, Dubai or Beijing.
I've never been a huge fan of the Range Rover, but I'd have one of them over that Bentley anytime.
Reminds me a bit of a London taxi.
Is it any bigger than the other VAG cars it shares a platform with?
According to that video up top, yes!
dragonAccording to that video up top, yes!
Ah yes, missed that. Doesn't quantify it but I'm assuming it can't be much bigger than a Q7 especially if it's shorter than a Range Rover Sport.
i remeber seeing this when i was up that way last year, even the staff didn't like its looks, but accpeted there was a market where "people" will buy it irrespecitve. Bentley have a habit of making stuff just to satisfy a market demand, whereas RR, generally tend to make something becasue its new and good and not a "fad"..
JLR have gone the same way, although no where near as bad - no more estates, you'll have to choose the SUV now..
What better way to advertise to the world that you have lots of money but no taste and probably aren't a very good driver
"Austin Land Crab"
*s****s.
You're right Sir.
Will they do the Bentley in Army Green too ??
It's hideous. It reminds me of the Bangle era BMW where it took them a while to realise the direction they were heading was the wrong one (See Mulsanne).
Saying that, much like how the big bike manufacturers don't really care what we in the UK think/want Bentley won't be bothered what most think about it as they'll sell loads to China. Forget the Middle East, it's China that all the car companies are interested in.
I think they muddled up the publicity shots with the latest Ssangyong 😯
Gah. Had to google it. It's 36mm wider and 78mm loner than a Q7.
The new Volvo XC90 is showing the way in big SUV design
I knew this was coming and I knew it was going to be hideously ugly but my god, thats hideously ugly x1000000. Not even the lovely looking interior can make up for the outside (but that applies to all Bentleys).
The new Volvo XC90 is showing the way in big SUV design
Blimey, if that's the way it's going then Ssangyong were way ahead of their time!
The worrying thing is that with the expensive 'improvements' that their target market will inflict on them (see earlier Stephen Ireland reference) I'd imagine some of the custom jobees will make the standard car look like a vision of beauty
It's like the bastard lovechild of a Chrysler and a Porsche Cayenne
I won't lose any sleep over this, even if I won the lottery I wouldn't waste my time with it.
paddy0091 - Memberawful looking Bentley, if you need imposing looks on a different scale see :
Common as muck, and so awfully gauche.
We have a Bentley Dealer opposite work, will have to take pop in and take a look once they get one in....

The Bentayga is 5141mm long, 1742 high and 2223mm wide
its the last number that is the scary one, the UK legal minimum carriageway width is 2.4m and given the road density and the need for as many lanes for cars as humanly possible, most roads are pretty much this width
now if you're riding your bike along the road, you'll be not in the gutter but not primary so assume 1.4 metres from the kerb to your right shoulder, the bentley will have to have BOTH wheels on the other side of the road to overtake and leave a safe (1m) gap. Imagine that there are double yellow lines, the drivers side wheel would need to be on the yellow on the wrong side of the road, anyone think that a driver of one of these vehicles will display the courtesy or awareness to do this ??
mikewsmith - MemberAh well, perhaps this is another sign that the financial storm of the last 7-8 years is over, 'bling' is back in.
The financial storm didn't really impact the target audience
That's true in some respects and not in others, pre-crash 'Bling' was very much in vogue, Rap Stars, Pop Stars, Footballers, Media Mogals and to a lessor extent famous business types like the Dragons and such. In years gone by famous types would usualy downplay their wealth through fear of alienating their fans, but 2000-2008ish that all changed success and wealth was something you flaunted and us muggles (well perhaps not us personally) played along, more people than ever were buying 'aspirational lifestyles' with borrowed money - lots of white things mostly, apart from skin which was tanned, very tanned.
When the crash happened, whilst a lot of famous people could still buy white Range Rovers and Bentley's then did less so as it wasn't so 'cool' in 2009 to be seen being overtly wealthy when you're trying to sell your latest book/cd/film/football shirt to people who no longer feel wealthy and are hoping they won't lose their jobs. Of course some of them went down the same drain as more everyday people who over-borrowed, C-listers like Kerry Katona and the like who had lots of profile, but little product to sell suddenly found themselves unable to borrow any more for this years tax bill and were made Bankrupt.
In the Western World anyway that's the target audience for this car, now (it seems) we're all wealthy again they can get away with driving about in something like that without people hating them, 'old money' types won't be seen in one (unless they're paid to be), although I believe this particular Tarts Palace on wheels was primarily designed for the Far East where they do things differently, bigger is better and flashier is best. I think for a time Bentley wasn't even going to bother to build it to pass regulations for Europe.
Ah, Bentley, the poor man's luxury car...... 🙂
Is it just me that think it looks like a bad update of a black cab?

As above though, it's 36mm wider than it's Audi cousin. And probably a load of other SUVs.
So what bike would one buy to accompany this monstrosity?
Bet James Bond is turning in his grave 😉

Mine too. I suppose I should find it funny, but it just makes me a bit sad. Suddenly I can see the revolting BMW X6 in a different perspective.
At least it will be a good way of identifying frightful people with no discernible taste.
The Bentley is for people who'd like a BMW x6 but think its too common 😆
At least you have visual identity of their tosser status.
That's hideous! Surely you'd need to be blind to spunk that much cash on something so ugly!
Just proves money doesn't buy taste!
As others have said - it isn't aimed at the (moderately) sophisticated European market.
I bet almost all of them end up in China/Russia/various other 'emerging economys'
Another **** car for ****s that aspire to going to Dubai every year and Instagram pictures of themselves like they're a brand.
I thought it looked like an Allegro in that publicity shot, it's put me right off my lunch
footflaps - MemberWe have a Bentley Dealer opposite work, will have to take pop in and take a look once they get one in....
I parked my car between a couple of their cars while popping into the VW dealership next door (assuming that's the one you mean nr the Science Park). They weren't too impressed. 🙂
Just for a bit of aesthetic balance..... here's something beautiful.
You seem to have posted a picture of the blobbiest, fattest supercar every made!
Did anyone else with borderline dyslexia read it as Bentley Bentgayer?
Didn't Bentley Bentgayer play for Bolton Wanderers about 5 years ago? Big fella, not much good, drove a hideous brown 4x4.
Bently BungaBunga seems a good name.
Looks like something that Leepu would come up with on chop shop
Even if I had the kind of cash available to buy one of those Bentgayas I'd still be looking elsewhere (Porsche Macan maybe).
Mind Rollsroyces efforts aren't much better,

Of the many artists impressions that's probably the most tasteful.
Lamborghinis concept looks pretty tidy though.

Im sure the footballers of the premiership will be forming an orderly queue to turn it into their latest chavmobile
My mate manages a couple of Bently dealers . I will prob get a ride in one soonish.
Having been in a 6.75 twin turbo W12 engined Mulsanne the other week I can confirm that the build quality, ride , detailing and finish are to a very high standard.
Awesome bit of kit own . Would I ever own one? Probably not .
It's a predictable evolution of their previous models. Shame they are not open to differentiating themselves by designing something innovative and attractive.
@unovolvo I think you could buy 3 Macan S's for the price of one of those Bentleys !
