At Hit the North's apres ride disco, Binners introduced himself to me with a few pleasantries and a robust handshake. At the time, that handshake inflicted exquisite pain (I injured my hand in a riding mistake a month ago) and I flinched and grimaced. However, today my hand feels stable and completely free of pain. Surely this is not a coincidence? I scoff at those who suggest it could be. The reason for this recovery - for this miraculous healing is my chance meeting with Jesus of Chorlton. And I thank him.

Am I the only one to be touched by JoC's miracle making? Perhaps he has turned a Camelbak of water into a Camelbak of wine. Perhaps he freerides in The Garden of Gethsemene. Is Mount Calvary his favourite downhill? What experiences have you had of this "man" they call Binners?

Pray tell.

Pook - definitely up for it then? What time?

Are you sure binners is Jesus? I mean, he does associate with men (in the local water park) and he also speaks in tongues.

Curses! I was hoping to keep the whole Second Coming thing under wraps until those loons over the other side of the Atlantic had calmed down a bit. They don't need any further encouragement

Rivington sounds like a plan. I could deliver a sermon to my flock

I was just thinking the standard upto the Pike-down the drop offs, climb (cough walk) up towards Winter hill. Down Belmont, back round....quick carry up and do the ickle gully run off of winter hill, ice cream run then down the singletrack by the road.

Junkyard- OF COURSE (you do realise I can't organise anything).

Simple ride:-
1. Up to the Pike- down the drop offs
2. Climb (not on that cheeky footpath, oh no not me) upto Winter Hill
3. Down San Marino/Belmont.
4. climb round on the road- and push up the gully run off of Winter hill (its a circa 5min push?).
5. Down the Gully and rejoin the curve round to finish at the ice cream run and down the singletrack by the road back down to the barns.

Pooks only got 2/2.5hrs max.

Aristotle. You forgot

-1) Hora fails to turn up, siting some frankly preposterous story, usually involving yet another set of forks

potentially, but that means me telling my mrs and her mate what time they're meeting. ie: my ride dictating their day.

I'll check with her first. Probably gonna be later

Ta but here is my simple route revision
Simple ride:-
1. Up to the Pike- down the drop offs
2. Climb (not on that cheeky footpath, oh no not me) upto Winter Hill
3. Down San Marino/Belmont.
4. [s]climb round on the road- and push up the gully run off of Winter hill (its a circa 5min push?).[/s] I will ride back up San marino and wait for you at the top looking smug 5. Down the Gully and rejoin the curve round to finish at the ice cream run and down the singletrack by the road back down to the barns

I also recommend doing top of wilders wood and back up the tarmac climb few mins detour for some fast rocky stuff.

Agree with Junkyard about point 4, pushing back up belmont will be much nicer than riding up the road then pushing up the gully, probably quicker too. San marino is also rideable in an upwards direction - if you are so inclined, gully's def a push/carry/scramble.

Why oh why oh why would you ride up San Merino? Its sick, twisted and perverted. My dad didn't to to the time and trouble to build hills like that so that you daft sods can ride up that way. Quite frankly, I don't know why he bothers at times.

I will be riding down it in.... oooooooooh..... about 3 hours. Woo and indeed Hoooooooooooo!!! Early finish for me 🙂
