But perhaps more significantly women will now be allowed to attend football matches in Saudi (Europe 1).

A very significant development @alpin. Yemen is 500-600 miles away from Riyadh. Firing a missile with any accuracy that distance is a significant development. It seems 100% likely it was supplied by Iran. No one in Yemen was building that in a basement.

or...

The Houthi-run Saba News in Yemen said the missile had been a Burkan H2.
The rebel group is believed to have access to a stockpile of Scud ballistic missiles and home-grown variants. Saudi forces have previously brought them down with Patriot surface-to-air missiles bought from the US.
The Houthis fired a missile towards Riyadh in May, a day before US President Donald Trump was due to arrive in the city for a visit, but it was shot down 200km (120 miles) from the capital.
Yemen has been devastated by a war between forces loyal to the internationally recognised government of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and those allied to the Houthi rebel movement.

How long before Saudi and Iran dispense with the proxies and really get into it?

Aren’t a lot of their stock seized items left over from previous wars that the soviets had supplied?

20% of the time it’s 100% Iran.

I’d say 150% likely.

Or maybe 75% which is half as likely.

It's Lebanon that's the big problem. Lebanon is like a fulcrum for Middle East stability right now. There's a couple of million refugees that might suddenly be on the move again. That could have a huge destabilising effect on Jordan, Iran and of course Europe, as more and more look to escape.
Saudi Arabia have so much to answer for, but while our economies are so entangled, no solution will be sought, let alone reached.
The Saudis have very cleverly and very successfully put themselves in such a strong position in the world, forcing us to treat Iran as the enemy and forcing them to pursue an ever more dangerous foreign policy to try to defend their interests.
As for the Yemenis, they're using largely the same weapons they had when they invaded Oman in the 70’s. It's a bit rich for us in the west to sit and talk about who's arming the Yemenis when it's the Saudis killing them by the thousand with weapons we sold them.

Scud’s are horribly inaccurate. Maybe they just got lucky with this one but imho it’s Iranian supplied.

Is that based on anything other than what's going on in your head? Seeing as we don't know the actual target accuracy isn't a problem, if your firing it in the general direction of a target then if it hits anything it counts. Getting shot down it counts too.

Saudi’s analyse debris and confirm the missile was manufactured in Iran. Given the Houthie are supported and armed by Iran this should surprise precisely no one.

But how likely, 100%? 🙂

well that saudi report is cleary imprtial and fact based

by the Iranian-controlled Houthi militias from within Yemeni territory that targeted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the most recent of which was the flagrant military aggression by the Iranian-controlled Houthi militias which targeted the city of Riyadh on November 11, 2017 (Corresponding to 15/2/1439 Hijri) using a ballistic missile with a range of more than 900 Km.
And, after the thorough examination of the debris of these missiles, including the missile launched on July 22, 2017 (Corresponding to 28/10/1438 Hijri) by experts in military technology, has confirmed the role of Iran's regime in manufacturing these missiles and smuggling them to the Houthi militias in Yemen for the purpose of attacking the Kingdom, its people, and vital interests.

Did you write it Jamby 😉

Out of interest how does the debris tell you who smuggled it and why ?

That report is 100% unlikely true

Iran obviously left the "made in Iran, quality checked by Ali Khamenei" sticker on it. A probably definitely true statement!

I'm actually waiting for the "Why would the Saudi's lie" defence to appear...

What's actually more interesting is the purges and clean outs in SA at the moment and the moves to get away from the hardline conservative state that they are in towards a more modern islamic place. It's certainly what a lot have been calling for.

At least that's how this particular power grab is being reported to us.
