The rebel group is believed to have access to a stockpile of Scud ballistic missiles and home-grown variants. Saudi forces have previously brought them down with Patriot surface-to-air missiles bought from the US.
The Houthis fired a missile towards Riyadh in May, a day before US President Donald Trump was due to arrive in the city for a visit, but it was shot down 200km (120 miles) from the capital.
Yemen has been devastated by a war between forces loyal to the internationally recognised government of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and those allied to the Houthi rebel movement.

It's Lebanon that's the big problem. Lebanon is like a fulcrum for Middle East stability right now. There's a couple of million refugees that might suddenly be on the move again. That could have a huge destabilising effect on Jordan, Iran and of course Europe, as more and more look to escape.
Saudi Arabia have so much to answer for, but while our economies are so entangled, no solution will be sought, let alone reached.
The Saudis have very cleverly and very successfully put themselves in such a strong position in the world, forcing us to treat Iran as the enemy and forcing them to pursue an ever more dangerous foreign policy to try to defend their interests.
As for the Yemenis, they're using largely the same weapons they had when they invaded Oman in the 70’s. It's a bit rich for us in the west to sit and talk about who's arming the Yemenis when it's the Saudis killing them by the thousand with weapons we sold them.

Is that based on anything other than what's going on in your head? Seeing as we don't know the actual target accuracy isn't a problem, if your firing it in the general direction of a target then if it hits anything it counts. Getting shot down it counts too.

What's actually more interesting is the purges and clean outs in SA at the moment and the moves to get away from the hardline conservative state that they are in towards a more modern islamic place. It's certainly what a lot have been calling for.
