Just thought I'd dig out all my old Meat Puppets stuff, god they're great aren't they, even the really early stuff, splendid.
That is all.
Oh Ween are great too, was listening to them earlier, not that I'm gay or anything.
What the hell are "Meat Puppets"
MrNutt they are brilliant!
Ok, disappointed
Never really crossed my radar (is that a phrase?) I don't tend to bother with old stuff, unless its really original, what they like?

You'll have heard at least three of their songs surely, Nirvana covered Plateau, Oh Me and Lake Of Fire on Unplugged and a couple of the Meat Puppets were on the session.
yeah start with Meat Puppets II Dez, you'll love them
Is this a Northern thingy ?
Never heard of it myself
a northern thingy?
Hmmm, I got some Minutemen but never really went for Meat Puppets. Maybe I will go dig some up...
If it's the meat puppets I'm thinking of they were basically the forerunner to Nirvana.
Yep brilliant, thanks for reminding me, must transfer the records onto the computer
+1 for minutemen as well
Cheers for making me dig out the Minutemen too - still good after not hearing it for prob 15+ years!

Brilliant. I used to love old hardcore/punk/rock, barely listen to it these days. Might dig out my old stuff.
What about some Big Black or Husker Du
ah yes, Big Black & Husker Du good point well made
🙂
This is a great track for smashing crockery too.
That's me happy 😀
That Drive Like Jehu album is a great turbo trainer record, still listen to it a lot (and Hot Snakes, somewhat related).
Couple from Chicago before bed
I had Huevos by the Meat Puppets on vinyl, which I liked, a lot. Some of their other stuff is pretty dire though (Dadrock you might say Dez ;-))
?
Had the pleasure of seeing them live in the early 90's still one of my most memorable concerts ever.
Good thread, seen a few of these. Unfortunately, not Minor Threat though.
Oh yes...Some good bands popping up here. 😀
Love this track. Especially the solo. Fab
Who released an album with a picture of a skater in a full pipe on the cover? I thought it was JFA but cant remember properly much from back then.

Nah, you're thinking of the Pixies.
*runs and hides*
Any one of the bands on the SST label are worth a listen
