Just thought I'd dig out all my old Meat Puppets stuff, god they're great aren't they, even the really early stuff, splendid.

That is all.

Oh Ween are great too, was listening to them earlier, not that I'm gay or anything.

Never really crossed my radar (is that a phrase?) I don't tend to bother with old stuff, unless its really original, what they like?

You'll have heard at least three of their songs surely, Nirvana covered Plateau, Oh Me and Lake Of Fire on Unplugged and a couple of the Meat Puppets were on the session.

If it's the meat puppets I'm thinking of they were basically the forerunner to Nirvana.

Brilliant. I used to love old hardcore/punk/rock, barely listen to it these days. Might dig out my old stuff.

What about some Big Black or Husker Du

That Drive Like Jehu album is a great turbo trainer record, still listen to it a lot (and Hot Snakes, somewhat related).

I had Huevos by the Meat Puppets on vinyl, which I liked, a lot. Some of their other stuff is pretty dire though (Dadrock you might say Dez ;-))

Had the pleasure of seeing them live in the early 90's still one of my most memorable concerts ever.

Good thread, seen a few of these. Unfortunately, not Minor Threat though.

Nah, you're thinking of the Pixies.
