Here's a really detailed analysis of the occult and esoteric meaning behind the Matrix films, if you're keen and have a couple of hours spare

I got as far as

Allegory
A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning,

IE I watched the films now I'm going to map my crazy mind state and conspiracy theories on to it and present it as a clever death by powerpoint.

If you want to hear something factual & relevant about codes & hidden messages rather than the rantings of a madman, I suggest you download Scroobius Pip's conversation with Simon Singh, proper interesting, talking about the maths of the Simpsons & Futurama (yes really) & breaking the Enigma code.

Big fan of Scroobius Pip, never heard of Simon Singh, but he's fascinating. The other podcasts are equally as good.

I'm not watching that!

It took me about 6 years after watching the first one to realise

NEO

is an anagram of

ONE

Doh!! 😀

(although I feel vindicated in my stupidity because I believe that most of the characters missed this also)

Trinity: "Morpheus believes!"

Neo: "I'm not the ONE"

Trinity: "Yes you are your name is an anagram so it's kind of obvious"

Neo: "Oh yeah, fair point....."

I got as far as "The matrix movies are science fiction and Allegories"
I have no idea what Allegories are and really don't care to know.

The speaker is also a Simpsons character

Neo: "I'm not the ONE. I think it's just a typo"

Trinity: "Oh. Right. Sorry, my mistake, I'm dyslexic you see. Erm... Can I use your phone?
...Tank I need an exit.... What?... Oh sorry, wrong number."

😀

I have no idea what Allegories are and really don't care to know.

Your English teacher must be so proud. 😆

It's just some guy narrating the key scenes:

"on the roof when he is asked to jump to an impossible distance to another building, it's about trying to build up confidence and belief in himself"

Fascinating conspiracy theory... and actually that scene is more about a literal leap of faith in the matrix.

I have no idea what Allegories are

They were made by Austin in the 70s and 80s I think.

Allegory - a story in which the characters and events are symbols that stand for ideas about human life or for a political or historical situation.

It's amazing what you can do with the internet these days, like finding out what unfamiliar words mean. I doubt it will catch on though.

Haha.

Not everything is a conspiracy.

I did watch it and he didn't go into any. And certainly not the fairly well known one related to the first movie.

It's just stuff like Neo's room is no. 101, which I didn't notice watching it, and how that's an Orwell reference, which is plausible. And the book he hides his disc in is Simulacra and Simulation which had similar concepts to the movie but in the 19th century.
