Why! Why would anyone want to do this! What the heck are they thinking
It's blooming sacrilege.

Burn them all with melted cheese.

I'm feeling very emotional about this 🙁

I'll buy that, but only when it is in the £2 section at Tesco.

Magnificent Seven was a remake - what if they'd thought the same ?

But it wasn't a remake of the Japanese version 'Seven Samurai'
MS is a western which should not be touched.

The (sort of) original is ancient. The Three Amigos was an excellent remake but even that was a while ago, time for a refreshed version for sure

Could be brilliant, could be bloody awful.

I'll certainly keep an eye on it.

On the basis that the Magnificent Seven was an updated remake of The Seven Samurai, a further remake should be a political thriller called G7.

Battle Beyond the Stars has both John Boy Walton and Hannibal Smith. Winner.

Yes, it was a remake of Seven Samurai. An inferior remake at that. Don't even bother arguing that point.

They are probably thinking that it's a good story but today's audiences won't relate to the characters, don't know the actors and won't go see the original. Similar logic to why Sturges remade Seven Samurai.

Where are the Mexicans?

And what's Robin Hood doing dressed up as a pantomime Injun?*

Looks great - explosions, cliched dialogue, gunplay - what more does a Western need?

😆

*am I allowed to say Injun these days? Apologies if not, ma'am. <tips hat, saunters off moodily into sunset>

I just said to my wife that they are remaking The Magnificen Seven. She stopped, thought, and asked "That was Enid Blyton, wasn't it?"

🙄

😆

The original movie was a subtle exploration of morality and right and wrong.

This remake looks like a Denzel Washington 'vehicle' with lot's of guns, explosions and very angry people hyping the story to the max'...

... in other words modern bollocks.

I too am "very emotional" 👿
