When I bought my wife this headset cap 2 years ago I didn't realise that she did have just one more hill to climb.

It was a very steep and long hill.

She rode it well.

Today, a month later, I was proud to carry it on my bike in the company of, and as an honorary member for the day of the Arran Belles, who did so much to help with that last climb.

We raised a bit of cash along the way to help with MND research and to support those suffering from its cruel effects.

It was a good way to spend a day.

So sorry for your loss. For what it’s worth it sounds like you had a wonderful partner, and so did she.

Thanks all. The words came mid ride the way thoughts do when you're just riding along. Riding bikes really is good for the soul 🙂

It's so hard to find the right words to respond to you but just to say........

Very well put, very moving and so sorry to hear what has happened. Just hope that the topcap will be with you always and that it brings back some happier memories..

@cheese@4p If there's anything I can help with or just chat PM me.

@Pickers Hopefully I'll manage to get to Pennant to get cold, wet and muddy at some point again now 😉

I love and hate the story in equal measure.

Love the cap mate. Epic.

Thanks all again.

I know that nothing and no-one can really help

Only time can do that, but this site has had such a profound effect on our lives in such unexpected ways that it just seemed right to mark such a significant event with a post.

And as a reminder to give your loved ones a hug because...

That post hit me a lot harder than those few words suggested it would.

My condolences.
