I'll start.

Beyblades and launchers.

Can i get the sodding thing to work? Can I ****! Either the spinner thing doesn't stay together or it gets stuck on the launcher.

Tips and shared frustration welcome...

Our boiler.
It got looked at a month ago, then broke down completely and have been without heat and hot water for a week and it's not going to be fixed until Jan 5th.
Never, ever ever use Plusheat for a boiler contract.
Happy chilly Christmas everyone.

None of the 130 magic tricks in our wee boys Magic Compendium 😭

They all basically require a degree of sleight of hand that even I don't possess, don't know what chance my 5 year old has 🙄

Yoyo. It's got a bearing in the middle so christ knows how it's supposed to come back up. Santa is going to get it shoved up his fat arse if I can't figure this out.

(assumed it was on a clutch like they were 25 years ago but seems not)

@13thfloormonk that sounds brutal!

@choppersquad that's also massively crap.

@squirrelking
The secret is to adjust the gap between the sides to the minimum so it will spin freely at the bottom of the string, but if you give a slight upward pull and release the string will slightly bind in the gap and up it should rise.

@Houns

Is that The Robin?

One of the very few things I miss about the Midlands.

How to set-up a tablet for a 7 year old with her own account.

It looks quite easy but there was quite a lot of reading to do! Hopefully I'll do it before I drink too much 😂

@singlespeedstu got it in one. Free beer and invited to staff party tomorrow night as I supply them with firewood.

Happily swap it for Scotland. Hope you have a great Christmas (and everyone else one here)

One of our kids got an LED headtorch that wouldn't switch on. Found myself at 7:30 this morning with multimeter in one hand and soldering iron in the other. Fixed now at least

@eddiebaby legend! There's an expert for every field on here 😂

Bodged it with a knot at the bottom, can't get it any closer together but can sort something better later.

@stumpy01 If it's an iPad then setting up an Apple child's account isn't that bad.

@tomhoward

Use a lighter, it's much easier.

I was about to post that that was the only thing I learned on my Erasmus Austausch, then realised where you live[d?]

Say what now? 😳

Now, I’ve had can openers that have practically reduced me to tears of anger and frustration, and I’ve ended up using a cheap US Army opener.
Bottle openers, on the other hand, I don’t think I’ve ever had any problems with them, of any sort. I’ve even got a couple that I carry that are Yale-type keys with a slot cut in one side, which works perfectly well.

A regular yoyo is supposed to spin on a loop in the string.

Bearing ones should be tied tight around the axel. They're also pricks and I don't really get it either.

There's a knack. You need to be surprisingly sympathetic to keep it in place on the launcher...not something a sugar fueled child is known for!

I have quite a good hit rate, but my daughter is at about 50%, so you have my sympathy 😆
