So, finally got around to watching the finale last night.
Wow!
At the end of Season 2, when June didn’t get in the van with the baby, I wasn’t sure where it was all going to go with another series and thought it might flatline a bit or struggle to keep the quality in the episodes.
I couldn’t have been more wrong, it had me hooked (again) after episode 1.
Elizabeth Moss’s June dancing around insanity.
The intense and bonkers Waterfords.
Then such a brilliant episode on the back story of Ann Dowd’s Aunt Lydia.
Again, in the finale, part of me was willing June to get on the plane,I mean, give the woman a break, but looking ahead, she has to stay and (hopefully) help finish Gilead off.
Roll on Season 4 .
Under her eye.
^^ Very much spoilers!
I was gripped by it too. I thought this was to be the last series, but no way can it end like that.
Superb stuff.
Dez.
For me ,I think it has been more poignant watching this series with Trump’s America running in the background.
Going to the cinema next week for a live broadcast screening of Margaret Atwood talking about
her career and why she has returned to her handmaid story 34 years later.
Some chat about the final episode here

I'd sort of had enough of Gillead at that point, so haven't watched Season 3 yet. It was great so far, but there's only so much depressingly-close-to-modern-life-but-really-a-dystopian-future I can take 😉
I then went on to watch the film 1984 (from 1984) and the parallels with modern politics were uncanny...
I've not got to the point where I'll not bother with the next series yet, but it's always in the back of my mind that Gilead would have just sent June to the wall about half way through series 2. She's hardly under the radar like the Martha network.
Apart from a couple of episodes, I found series 3 to be pretty boring. I think the problem is that I lost any empathy I had with the June character - don't care what happens to her anymore.

Show me ANY TV series with no plot holes and I'll binge it til I die!
Also watched this last night - I thought S3 as a whole was a little disappointing. It was almost joyous in some places.
Was a great way to end the series, but... if the next series ends with June being close to leaving/escaping but ultimately staying/sacrificing herself to stay then I'm out...
I agree - they have to conclude with series 4.

You must wonder where the June's character can go after that ending.
How can she blend back into Gilead when those house to house searches would have shown up who was missing ,and little chance that Lawrence can still shield her.
But hey,I had the same thoughts at the start of this season.
Just watched the final episode- was staying away from this thread until I’d seen it all.
I enjoyed the whole series, I still care what happens to June.
i seem to recall from the trailers a monologue line of something like, “if you didn’t want us to turn into an army, you shouldn’t have given us uniforms”.
I don’t recall hearing that in the series at all, so I wonder if it’s a trail for s4?
