You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
This morning I downloaded the new Guardian app, I pay the £11.99 a month and have done for years. It’s certainly different and after initial misgivings I think it’s a vast improvement. However, the interactive quick crossword doesn’t appear to be interactive anymore! You can see the grid and the clues but don’t appear to be enter the answers on the grid. This is causing some marital strife as my wife loves completing it in the morning. STW, please help..
30 or so years ago, 1 of my fellow couriers used to bring a Guardian into the office and Xerox the crossword. Few of us would grab one and take it out with us for quiet moments between deliveries. When anyone got stuck there would be a bit of radio chatter offering solutions, sometimes to the annoyance of our controller if work suddenly got busy. Had almost forgotten about that. On really quiet days, the same thing would happen with the Evening Standard after lunch.
Do it on the PC instead
@ossify thanks for the help. Not! Our printer is in my workshop and unfortunately we don’t have any paper thick enough to cope with all the crossing out. Someone must know? The rest of the app works really well apart from when enlarging some articles partial words appear before the full words - it wasn’t called The Grauniad, for years, for nothing. Good article about Mark Cavendish today too..
The standard answer is to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if that helps. Might also be a font issue. I have my phone set to larger text due my aging eyes and it does mess up text alignment sometimes
Works fine for me. But to get started, you actually have to tap on the text of a clue - you can't just start entering stuff onto the grid.
Nope, that doesn’t work, using latest IOS and the brand new app downloaded today.
Must be an IOS thing. I'm on this version on Android

As I keep saying to my wife, don't use the app, just use the website.
I was slightly confused by your mentioning the new Guardian app, because as far as I can see it hasn't changed. However, Guardian Editions app has changed - is that what you mean? Not that it helps much, because the crossword works fine in that app as well, on Android.
Yes, I think the Editions subscription app that has been re released to look more like a newspaper. I’ll contact the help desk

Have you considered using a pencil?
The amount of pencil eraser required would make a proper mess
