Watched the first episode last week. Co-hosted by Tim Shaw from Car SOSage. Entertaining sixty minutes of beards, skills and know-it-alls! Channel 5 Wednesday 8pm I think.

I caught the last half hour or so of the one last week, so that must've been the first one.  I laughed a lot, generally at bits I was supposed to.  I'll be tuning in to the rest of the series.

I watched it. It was ok, they didn't really show or explain how they did anything so not that interesting. And all the contestants and presenters were very dull. It didn't even kick off!! I wanted someone to get a bit of track in the face at least!

The bloke from missenden made me laugh, both with how cocky he was, how flagrant a disregard he had for the rules, followed by how crap the work they didn’t bring with them was, and how they weren’t even in contention for the win, despite the belief they were going to run away with the whole series...

kinda disappointed that that the actual track building only takes a morning, and I’m not sure if the teams were massively ambitious with what they thought they could get done, or there just isn’t enough time to get more than one or two animations done.

Will watch again though.

I shall hunt this down on catch-up as it appeals to my inner cardiganwearingoldgit.

I wasn’t the only one wondering why Tim Shaw was a aggressive tooth fairy

A little disappointed to be honest. Didn't show the hobby in a great light. Came across as a bit toy train set'ish. I would have preferred it if they built something smaller but higher quality. I was hoping for a competition around true modeling skills.

It’s being roundly panned on the model Railway forums. I actually quite enjoyed it, will watch the rest. Not a fan of the ‘themes’ nor the random items they had to use, but broadly entertaining.

Caught this last night. Have any of them ever actually seen Jurassic Park? "let's just slap some toy dinosaurs on some greenery and a dark green moster truck, that'll look exactly like the red/yellow/lime jeeps in the film"

The winning one was a joke as well. Had NOTHING to do with classic movies, they just wanted to do a WW2 layout and/or had loads of appropriate stuff pre-built.

An odd show. The bloke in the light blue shirt was a prat and the end results looked a bit crap.

Didn’t the other presenter used to do the Italian Football show back in the day? Usually from a street cafe in Rome.

Now he's in steam heritage centre surrounded by Herberts in monogrammed polo shirts. He needs to have a word with his agent.

Caught this again last night. It's one of the worst programs I've ever seen.

Why give them so short a time to make it? Give them 3 months if that's what it takes. Terrible, just terrible. Was quite looking forward to seeing some great model railways but it's not going to happen.

Whoever thought up the format and presenters needs hoofing in the slats. It could have had potential but sadly it's truly rubbish. I is disappoint.

I agree with the above, I love models, Lego  trains and have tried to watch this twice. The format does not work and the scratch build challenge.....

I tried, on the basis of this thread.

But I didn’t think was any good at all, so I turned over.

Another vote for failing to steam.

Too much diving around between layouts makjng shallow chat and no close look at any of the actual skills or techniques that would showcase the talent of the better competitors.

That show with Lego challenges a couple of years back was much better.

They should have a series which follows desperate TV executives who are challenged each week to come up with and produce a hit programme based on another successful show. All the failed ideas get sent to Channel 5.

I am thoroughly enjoying this show. I have absolutely no interest in model railways at all, but the whole thing just makes me laugh.

Thought the final was gripping and the right team won.

Also, Kathy Millatt can be slightly grumpy with me any day.

They hardly ever make any effort to conform to the 'theme'...

Watched Lego Masters with my daughter. We then speed built a bridge in less than an hour.
