What a great final last night. I did feel sorry for Mia that her dress didn't quite come off but Tony's was fantastic. Just not as fantastic as Asmaa's, that was jaw droppingly clever and chic.

But, Tony is a man of a certain age, wears crocs, loud shirts and rides a mountain bike ....... does he frequent STW ???????

Come on, who is the whizz with the sewing machine .....

Is this a Naked Attraction spin off?

Just not as fantastic as Asmaa’s, that was jaw droppingly clever and chic.

It was a bit humbling looking at her, obviously a skilled dress maker, but a cancer surgeon and having fled Iraq as a child. She came across as a very kind human throughout the series.

Awesome lady.

I agree with everything stated here.  Kinda wanted Mia to win but Asmaa was just too good on the final challenge.  Tony is/was awesome!

Great series.

I wondered this too, he definitely has the look of a STWer.

But, much as I liked him a lot Asmaa was different class. Mrs Lunge and I called it on week 1 that she’d win, she’s just so good, and that final dress was jaw dropping.

Sewing Bee is such lovely TV, such a calming programme.

Great final and a deserving winner. As stated above, Asmaa strikes me as one of life's better human beings.

Do we start a count down to Bake Off now?

Yeah, Asmaa, thanks for making me feel even more of an inadequate loser! Started sewing to make post-mastectomy garments for her patients. Incredible person, one of life's gems.

And a perfect advert for why welcoming refugees can deliver huge benefits for a society.

I haven’t actually gotten around to watching the final yet, but I’m honestly not surprised at the results - Tony is an amazing sewer, and very creative, but Asmaa is spectacularly talented and as everyone says, just an incredible human being, and funny too. I’ll be watching it at some point soon just to see what they actually created.

It was my partner who got me watching it, she moved to Salisbury just after I first met her, to start a course in dress and fabric design and seamstressing, so she loved it, and I grew to appreciate the skill that goes into designing and making clothing.

@CountZero make sure you watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Asmaa's final dress was red carpet worthy in my opinion. The Sewing Bee is great, I much prefer watching it to the Bake Off and I am a baker.

It's one of my all time favourite telly programmes. These people are so talented.

I agree that Asmaa's final dress was jaw dropping. It was simply stunning.
Tony and Mia are both brilliant too and they seemed to have learnt a lot.

@Sprootlet - nobody has stepped up to claim they are or they know Tony (strokes chin), maybe he's in hiding.

P.S. There's a women's forum now :o)

I've done a few repairs for peeps but not had a chance to make a slinky little cocktail number.

The thing that I can't help noticing is the shelves on those painted units in the background have some serious sagging.

Probably just 18mm mdf without a lip, so no wonder. 🙄
