This was made in 2019 but I only just caught it on TV tonight and I was totally engrossed.

Well worth a watch if you love the the original film particularly and the unique part the British film industry played in making it the sensation it became.

On iPlayer for another 13 days I think.

I particularly liked the chats with the guys making the props, from the light sabre to C3PO etc.

Fascinating stuff.

Nothing like a jingoistic title to get the old codgers' blood flowing...

The UK seem particularly good at this....

^^ In fairness I don't care about the title and I'm extremely pro EU etc.

In fact the title makes sense as it sought to highlight the profound effect the British input and workers had on the amazing success of the film. Hell, it didn't say Great Britain, which is jingoistic most of the time in its usage, just plain old Britain.

That's all it was about, not politics.

Its most odd having to make this post about an innocuous Star Wars doc.

Not seen it, but is it true that the estate that Ozzy Osbourne has somewhere in the UK (the same one he nearly killed himself on a quad bike in) is where they filmed the Speeders chase in Return of the Jedi?

Saw it when it first came out, nicely done and not overdoing it at all.

The UK's film industry, particularly the Special Effects side, really is amazing and up there with the best. Other places may well have the budget and facilities but we have the talent, all the way from people in sheds to highly skilled small companies. We absolutely major on getting the best bang-for-buck and for not overcomplicating things.
