Yes, it's Friday, and time for another P&P thread. Today, there's a nice simple theme - Sporting photography of motorised sport!

Pigface.
A mate of mine used to be quite good on his MX outfit.
British championships and all that.
He took me out for a lap on the chair once. 😯
It was ****ing terrifying.
We were doing about 3/4 of the speed I was going on my solo but it felt about twice as fast.
The really scarey part is when you're going in a straight line and you look how much the pilot is having to steer sideways to try and keep it in a straight line.
One lap and I was on my knees. Those chairmonkey are strong as ****.

Ha ha same thing for me, I was persuaded to be the monkey for about 5 minutes, never again. I was in good nick back then and it killed me 😆 The bloke I was with was a clubman wobbler so I can only imagine the horror of having someone who was enthusiastic in charge of the twistgrip 😯

Barry Johnstone at the Jim Clark Rally 2007 hitting the Leitholm "yump" at 130mph+

Trevor Reeves and his supercar killer Mk1 Golf at Spa on a VW group jolly, had the pleasure of a lap in this beast- sooo fast i ached for hours afterwards and realised my Mk2 Golf was actually shit slow 😉 .

Respec for the sidecar pic and anyone who's had a go - you would not ever, ever find me approaching one of them with a view to getting onboard. My old boss and his mate, who were decent amateur solo racers, once borrowed an outfit with a view to having a go on it at Weston, but they had one practice session (at a hardpack track) and realised just how insane it was to even think about hitting the beach. They couldn't even get the beast started, they had to tow-start the evil thing behind the van! lol

I once marshalled at Frome when sidecars were part of the programme - might have been their British champs? They were bloody quick anyhow. But I remember one of the fast guys coming out of a hairpin and giving it full loud for thirty yards before he realised his passenger had fallen off (the pilot had "rubbed" him against the posts on the inside) and was being dragged along the outfit by a trapped foot. No sir, not me, no way.

I raced Weston a couple of times, and my first thought if I stalled in a dip was "Please don't let there be an outfit behind me".

I raced Weston beach race back in 1989 and it was brutal in every possible way, i was a young n' foolish 17yr old at the time, well used to racing motocross as i had done it since i was 8 but this was my first big beach race wi the big boys and on a KX250 rather than the KX125 i was used to - Hitting water at top speed on the beach straight led to a few "oh-my-****-gawd" massive tankslappers but as long as you kept the throttle wide open and your weight right off the back end the bike would drive out of them, and if you failed to clear the dunes it was demoralising as hundreds of other riders would just ride over you. I was absolutely shattered at the end of the race (think it was 3hrs?) and i fell off the bike and lay on a tarpaulin for at least 30mins, i had to get help to undress myself as my arms wouldn't work - big respect to those that were actually competitive at the time - Rob Herring etc as they were just so fast.

I saw "Slammin' Sammy Miller" give a demonstration run at Santa Pod back in the '80s and it had to be seen to be believed. The whole car was no bigger than a Mondeo with a rocket thruster from a Lunar Landing Module (I shit you not). It was capable of over 300 mph in about 4 seconds and the noise it made (which was horrendous) was purely from the disturbed air.

I did 2 laps of knockhill in an outfit (tarmac racing, not sure what class, think it was a zzr motor) and that was considerably above my limit for mentalness. And yet doesn't even register on the mentalness scales required to include offroad sidecar racing.

Just googled for some proper BTCC pics and almost every result was John Cleland tangling with someone.

Quickest Quattro I've seen recently, still on a 'H' pattern box & hits the limiter in 6th near the finish 😯

This is good, how close are the spectators + 190mph in the rain on two wheels at the end.

Nice 'scort - 11,000 redline BDX motor!

Yours for £50k - email in profile if interested 😉
