Bit of both. He does need more chances to score than you'd like in a striker but he brings speed, agility and dribbling. His threat makes room for others, makes defences adjust. He's the kind of player who is much better with the right kind of players around him. Which France don't really have

They'll have looked at the Portugal game, seen how they pulled the defence narrow to allow Goossens and Kimmich to roam. Instead of picking a squad to pin them back with threat they've gone out to neutralise them in attack. I think that's the wrong choice. German are there for the taking, they aren't what they were but I think you have to press them into backpedaling. Their defence is vulnerable

It's knock-out soccer. You can have exciting but error ridden, or you can have better soccer but less exciting. This s the latter. The is room for both sides to improve, but it's better gamecraft than we've seen so far.

It was a decent cross, nothing special though and about the first decent thing he's done. I think he's an ok defender, just an unambitious selection for midfield.
