Lovely dive from Sterling!

Let's hope the keeper coach had a word with Pickford. He was wound up tighter than a bomb disposal techs sphincter.

Lee Dixon says ‘level head’ just as they did a close up on Maguire. I laughed.

They both had their arms up. Apparently outjumping your opponent is a yellow now. Ridiculous.

If it was really the head injury he was claiming how is he allowed to continue playing under concussion rules?

Not really surprising given that absurd yellow but yeah, he's got to get his head together, play the game

Macguire got a yellow, so he doesn't have to go off if he receives treatment on the field.

And Macguire continues to play with fire.

Help! Why can I not see the match?!?

We have been trying to get it since 20:00, and although the ‘home page’ on my tv says to ‘watch now’ on the ITV Hub, the match isn’t there. It’s literally not an option anywhere once you log onto ITV.

Just watch it on normal telly...

It's a bit weird but you have to select the watch live option on the left menu then scroll right and select watch live again for the match. At least that's how it is on my Samsung TV app.

@grum, when I click ‘watch live’, I get a menu to my right with itv2, itvBe, itv3, and itv4, but none of these have a game of any sort listed.

@jambourgie, I haven’t had a regular tv for many years. 🙁

Hmmm it does come up on mine once I've selected watch live on the left but it's not very intuitive. It's itv the main channel that it's on

As a desperate measure you could try hesgoal

itv hub was stuffed up a few games ago. just replaying the 3 second clip. Ended up switching on the freesat. check on your phone etc

Boy, who said Southgate doesn't gamble. Grealish on the left means Sterling on the right which means Maehle is unmarked.

Could easily be a pen. Soft but it's a foul imo. Probably not enough to overturn the ref on the field though.

Someone wanna explain what the VAR guys were doing there?

Edit: with all those monitors, I'm leaning towards epic Fortnite tourney.

Big Kane, kicks the defender, goes down like he's been hit with a cruise missile. Pesky Italians, eh?. 🤣

Big Kane, kicks the defender,

Toepoked the ball actually. As the replay pretty clearly showed.

You know when Lee Dixon says it's not a penalty for England, well, that.

Was 6 and half a dozen, but the dying swan doesn't help your cause. England look like they're the only team capable of winning this as it stands, bit early to be hanging on for pens.

one of those where he couldn't really keep the ball but by toepoking past the defender means the defender misses the challenge, and creates the contact

Could easily have been given

Defender didn't get the ball, got the man. Soft but anywhere else in the field as they say.

As one of the analysts said a few days ago, the way the game is these days, you have to go down to force the ref into a choice.

Italy that were dominated by Spain and scraped through on pens because Spain's finishing was so bad? Hmmm ok.

Somebody needs to try a shot from the top of the box. They know you don't want to cross it. They will sit in the bank of 5 and 4 and let you play around the edge. England adoing very well to create the spacea they are but they are practically daring you to shoot. Do it. Maybe Schmeicel spills it.

The ref does seem to be buying most things we are selling this evening!

England are clearly the better side but so were Spain last night....

He wouldn't if the Danish defenders didn't keep pressing fivers into his hand. Why get all over Kane's back when he's two'd up and facing the touchline 40 yards from goal. He has certain attributes but scoring from there isn't one!

I don't think the ref has been very good, he has missed quite a few "professional" fouls and fallen for too many soft contacts.

He's weird. Normally grabbing a fistful of a players shirt and hanging on for dear life is a nailed on yellow. Unless you are Paulson.

That makes no sense. That midfield trio have not given denmark an inch. Or is that about penalties. ?

I was thinking Sancho for Sterling, who has faded in and out but Sterling is probably more assured in pens.

Now that was less a pen than Kane's but because the ref gave it VAR couldn't really overturn it, "trip or attempt to trip"

Crap pen but Kane stayed switched on.

What’s the point of VAR again? That dive was shameful. Denmark don’t deserve to go out on that.

That's why you have to do the Swan. If it's called on the field, it is a very high bar for VAR to overturn. If he'd givent the Kane one it wouldn't have been reversed.

There was a bit of contact in the challenge before the one he fainted on but he stayed up. A bit, mind.

The ref last night was better.

don't go defensive now, push on and exploit gaps, we have the players to do it, not the subs to just sit and absorb.

And after that penalty, I don't want penalties.

It wasn't a dive. Maehle made a small amount of contact with his leg. Contact isn't even necessary. Kick or attempt to kick, trip or attempt. Sterling is past, you swing your leg in a careless fashion, it's a foul. So VAR can't overturn. He goes down to force the issue.

Too late, he's not taking your calls. Grealish for Trippier. If you want to play in their end,, kill time, force fouls, that's an odd choice. Unless he's thinking ahead, or Grealish had a knock

Back 5. Or 3 and wingbacks if you are being charitable.

Away and shite! How does nudging the left leg cause the right leg to drag and not come forward?. It was a dive, you said it yourself, he had to to the dying swan 🤣🤣🤣

If VAR had existed that would have been a 'clear and obvious error' and overturned. We'd have won WC 86, Gazza's tears wouldn't have existed in 1990, Three Lions would never have been written......etc.

You are looking at the wrong contact. Maehle is the player he got around. Took a swing with his right leg from behind Sterling, catches the outside of Sterling's right. Watch the replay like VAR did.
Im not saying he dived exactly but he went down. As he is 'entitked to do" as they say. It was less a cert to me than Kane's though.
