I really feel for you. We got our first dog over 8 years ago, and it’s frequently in the back of my mind that eventually we’ll have this day too.

Always the hardest thing to do. Really sorry to hear of your loss, try to remember the love and friendship only a dog can bring. Thoughts with you and yours. X

Sorry to hear this. The last and hardest act of kindness as a dog/pet owner. 😟

The single kindest thing you can do for your furry buddy is to put his needs before your own desire to keep him.Horrible though it is.

You never get use to having to do this. I just wish we lived in a world where someone could do it for me when my time comes.

Post loads of pictures of the good times and cry like a baby.

So sorry to hear that. You did the right thing, and looking in to his eyes and you being the last thing they saw would have comforted him.
Just think of those happy times and the amazing home you gave him.

Sorry for your loss OP, its horrible when you lose much loved pets.
Blue Cross have a helpline, we used them a couple of times. Really helped.
All the best.

Well done OP, hope I have the strength when the time comes, which it must in a handful of years at best.

It’s pretty shit. Stayed through to the very end. We were eye to eye through to the point his glazed.

Did that.
I held Fatty McTavish as he entered this world (born backwards- Mum struggling).
And held him as he left this world, 16 years later.
Kissed & stroked him until the vet said he’d gone. Christ, I’m filling up typing this.

Sorry for you loss Op, thoughts to you.

Sorry for your loss. We've had to go through this three times now and share your pain, but given all the happy years of dog company we've had, it's only a couple of times in over 25 years of pleasure and you owe it to them to make their passing as easy as possible.
