28.1 degrees in my bedroom this morning. Solidarity with anyone else who wakes up a sweaty mess at some ungodly hour of the morning! It's almost as bad as camping!
Mines north facing too, but left a tiny gap between curtains, blinds and the window and got lasered in the eyeballs at 4:30 when the sun passed by.
Home office is east facing, was 28 degrees in here at 8:30. (Back down to 23 now, it's clouded over and got windy.)
Ours faces East and ours is lovely and cool.
My daughter's bedroom is east facing & does get pretty warm once the sun comes up.
Once the sun is on the other side of the house, we tend to open the windows to try & let a breeze in, but that doesn't help with how warm it is, first thing.
Our bedroom is west-facing, so we have a similar problem but in the evening.
I got home after a ride last night & while getting the bike out of the car, the bricks were radiating an impressive amount of heat.
When we bought the house 14 years ago, we didn't even consider orientation. If we were to move, it would definitely be something that I would consider when making a choice.
South facing here. It bakes in the sun all day long and is almost uninhabitable all night. Walking up the stairs to bed is the same feeling you get when you step off the aeroplane somewhere fiercely hot.
I think I'll be sleeping on the camping mat in the living room this weekend.
East facing bedroom here. The heat isn't a problem, but any crack of light, and I'm awake. We have a blackout blind and double curtains and a rather makeshift pelmet thing I made, all to cut out the light, but I'm still awoken by the merest crack of light. Not much fun when I don't get home from work until after midnight. I'm seriously considering some electric shutters ala our friends on the continent.
East facing, and the entirety of that side of the room is window, from ceiling to floor.
It's more the light that's an issue, especially around this time of the year.
I find white blinds with curtains closed behind them works pretty well.
South Facing - two rooms. Hot at night with stored heat energy in the bricks.
South facing bedroom.
It's not bad with the blinds and heavy curtains drawn.
Living room is north facing and remains really cool no matter how hot it gets.

Have you tried a sleep mask? I was sceptical but am absolutely a convert now. And it's a lot cheaper to try before you splash out on a more expensive solution!
One room east, one room west facing. Both with a2a heating/air conditioning. East room bed on north wall, vertical blinds always closed in one direction to fix sun light issues. Prior to fitting air to air I preferred to sleep in garage.
When these heatwaves come along, as they seem to every year now, having east facing bedroom and lounge is a bind.
Last night was the worse so far this week, so warm we had my little Honeywell turbo fan on windowsill drawing air from outside, window open and trying to shape curtain around fan to block out light. Once sunrise happened, light woke me up despite sleep mask and then the wind noise of the fan got me, resolved both issues but couldn't settle. Up for a few hours, too tired to go for an early cool temperature ride, as expected back in bed from ~09300 until 1300.
Got a pedestal fan right next to me, but it's not helping as much as earlier in week, think I'm going to soak a PlanetX baselayer and put that on (great for ~30mins cool riding outside)... OMG, bliss within seconds!
If it's really hot at night I soak a big bandana and use it as a top sheet.
