...I’m late to the game however what a fantastic drama.
Strictly speaking it’s not completely accurate, this matters not.

Anyone watched/watching ??

My wife loves it, I find it tedious and twee.

Basically its ASMR TV

We studied My Family and Other Animals in early secondary school and I loved it. (Incidentally, there's a scene in this book which has to be one of the funniest passages in any book I've read - involving a matchbox IIRC, for those who know the book. I'm not sure it would stand up to a reread all these years later, but has stayed with me all this time.)

Anyway, the tv adaptation was not a disappointment - a wonderful cast of gloriously eccentric characters - particularly Margo, and Lugaretzia for some priceless facial expressions. The beautiful setting, and lack of technology and modern convenience, also made for a soothing watch. Thumbs up from me. 🙂

...I'm guessing this isn't about big brother Lawrence? Somewhat less feelgood.

Loved the books, think I found the TV series a little easy going for my liking at the time but frankly I need a bit of that right now, should watch them and follow it up with the recent adaptation of Catch 22 for more sepia toned gentle good humour...

I thought the early series were good entertainment but the later ones got worse. I'm not sure, but did they stray away from Gerald D's writing later on, so had to invent stuff which wasn't as good as his own recollections?
