Is it just us (wife and I) or is Fiona Bruce doing a really bad job at interviewing someone who's so obviously uncomfortable talking about himself? This could be so much better if the interviewer was less direct and a little less confrontational 🙁

She is pretty gabage to be honest. Paxman would have been far better. 😀

I've given up on it, had the makings of a good interview. But she persists when he's clearly not interested.

She was truly terrible. That was probably one of the most important interviews for a good long while and the bbc effectively let an amateur do it.

How was it "one of the most important interviews for a good long while" ?

He is a 90 year old man with no proper job or role. Nothing he says or thinks is in anyway consequential. The interview was of no importance other than for entertainment value. Granted, she could have tried to coax a racist/bigoted gag out of him, that at least would have made it worthwhile.

Channel5 did almost EXACTLY the same program about 2 weeks ago, but it had more interesting stuff about his history and inbred family.
when interviewed, he's a defensive old asshat and ALWAYS answers questions as if you'd asked him to poke himself in the eye with a shitty stick.
the interview being crap wasn't Fiona Bruce's fault (albeit that she is pants) - they always turn out like that.

Always turn out like that?
I'm not convinced.
When Titchmarsh was with him in " All the queens horses" he opened up and was very relaxed, talking informally about many of his interests.

Maybe they should have had Alan down the pub doing the interview?

Nice trolling, only got Ernie and brakes to take the bait though so must try harder.
