I used to live in the Brick Houses next door so I spent quite a lot of money in there but now it's gone down the Irwell in the Boxing Day floods. I managed to get in last Friday and took a couple of pics, you can see that the bridge, which must pre-date the mill building, is in quite good shape. There's talk of just reinstating the parapet and building a pedestrian bridge alongside. There has been a planning application to convert the building to flats and build about 14 more on the car park but that won't be happening any more so the protesting villagers will be mightily relieved.
