I had one as a teenager and it was brilliant for the chest, biceps abs etc but using it was tricky behind the back to get it to budge much

It was 10cc on vinyl playing sand in my face all about dynamic tension make a man out of you

10cc were such a good band , any others saved up their paper money for one ?

Yep, I had one. Dynamic tension or whatever it was called.

Turned out no matter how big and strong I got, I just had the kind of face people wanted to kick sand in.

We had one of those big springs you bend in two.

Kevin came round one day , a couple of years younger than the rest of us.

He wasn't able to bend it, so put it on the back of his neck to pull it forward, locking in many hairs as he did so.

Panic ensued as realisation dawned. He cried, the rest of us were powerless to help as we were crippled with laughter.

I remember moving the indicator when nobody was looking so it looked like I’d done all the bullworking!

I still have one lurking somewhere in the back of the shed. Might dig it out and see if it still works.

Now that's weird, I was thinking of Bullworkers only recently.

I was a big fan and used one for ages. It's surprising what a good workout you could get and progress you could make vs. doing nothing.

I moved on to freeweight training and did that for years (although all of this was a long time ago, I haven't lifted a weight in decades). I'm happy with my cycling now.

My Wife has always been a runner but has been struggling with that recently. I picked up a pile of fixed dumbbells from the Wiggle sale for Her (0.5Kg - 5Kg) for about £30; I'm not sure whether I'll feel inclined to have a go!

I remember catching the hair with the one bedmaker describes they were very limited as to what you could do other than hurt yourself with the spring recoil

With the Bullworker you got a poster with all the exercises and booklet. Along with trying to wheelie a bike , catching my foreskin in a zip, always borrowing my mum's inch tape, looking at a Freemans catalogue sums up my teenage years. My report card would have said could have done better

Sounds like my progression, but fwiw i went back to weights last year, a couple of times a week, and feel much better on the bike as a result.

My dad had one when i was a teenager, he gave it to my uncle, who sadly died a couple of months ago, bit the bullworker was still in one of the (many) sheds.
None of us dared to try it though, the cables were rusted to **** eh

I assume the tape was used after perusing the catalogue.
