You’re a British nationalist. You started this thread because you felt your British identity was being threatened.
Erm no?
I started this thread because I think it's important that some people feel disenfranchised by the name of the national park they live in being changed, without their consultation, because of the actions of people whom I consider to be asshat nationalists.
In no way is my identitiy threatened by anything here. Because I don't pin my identity to people, place or things.
If you disagree, I'd love for you to show me how I'm wrong...

Aye, they're people like you. They're called British nationalists.
my post wasn’t “offensive” – you took offence.
Isn't that the classic tory defence when they do something horrible?

Yes, it's very common for nationalists of all types to react angrily to other nationalists because often they feel their conflict is a zero sum game where one side has to lose for the other to win.
Instead of trying to empathise or understand the other side they call them names because their cause is not logical. It's purely emotional.
You are not arguing logically. You are simply reacting emotionally.
Because when it comes down to it, you are a nationalist.
I’d love for you to show me how I’m wrong
@brucewee don't bother your arse with this, it's pointless.
you’re not bothered to engage in an actual intellectual to-and-fro on the subject.
Are you equipped to engage in an actual intellectual to-and-fro, tho?
Carlin's motif was punching up against the Catholic Church, advertising, the military-industrial complex. That routine (not one of his best) is a blend of Orwell's Politics and the English Language, Mad Magazine jokes, and listicles from Reader's Digest (the original Buzzfeed).
What evidently eludes you is that the common theme to all of that insight is speaking truth to power, stripping away pretty words to hide ugly things. It's not using slurs and insults that objectify people with disabilities and differences. That's just being a rude dickhead. You're not George Carlin, you're Ricky Gervais.
