Complete Control - Clash
Nuff said !!
The clash weren't punk but SLF were...what ? I mean WHAT ??
I prefer 'Fly the flag' if we are going down the SLF road.
But for me 'No rest for the wicked' by New Model Army
Not punk but surely one of the best songs ever.
SLF - Johnny Was
Jeez, if you really think that AFI is anything to do with punk.. 😕
Some great stuff here. How about this?
it murders your heart, they never told you that part....
I was sayin let me outta here before ah was even born....
Henry Rollins - saw him play in Leeds when he was in Black Flag,****in' Mental !
This still does it for me
This was the B side of the first ever punk single I bought. A side was Hurry up Harry, but I thought this was infinitely better cos it had rude words in it. I would have been about 12, happy days.
That AFI song's not punk - MOR powerpop/softjeyrock at best.
zippykona - not heard that for a while - hanx!
my fave crustcore hooligans from their " punker than punk" ep 😆
its too bad I'm livin....
off to play in a world of manky old crustcore vinyl now....some punk was just too clean 😆
Surprised none of these guys have made it so far!
TSOL - World War Three
Here's a goodun off a classic album that's probably overlooked by alot of people
Another good song about the feds
And this off the same CD is an absolute tchown
Oh, nearly forgot...
Hmmmm, some interesting/dubious choices of punk songs so far.
My choice is White Man In Hammersmith Palais-The Clash, in fact its the best song ever anywhere. This song allowed punk (and punks) to grow and expand musical horizons.
Can still remember hearing it on Peel and being gobsmacked by the sound.
Of course Instant Hit by the Slits (or anything by the Slits) is a cracker.
instant hit - MemberHmmmm, some interesting/dubious choices of punk songs so far
I think you're being too kind, some people aint gotta clue what the hell punk ever was or is now....
& with that,lets have some Lurkers & 999
I'm a big Misfits fan - I even like some of the Graves era (Crimson Ghost is a pretty good album) but you can't beat Danzig stuff - Skulls, Green Hell, Last Caress, Rat Fink but I'm going to nominate Where Eagles Dare. Ace.
I wouldn't class modern AFI as punk, especially not the later stuff. The early stuff was good, before it got to goth / pop.
some people do have a strange definition of "punk", and some people are just strange and some people are the Butthole Surfers
This is definitely punk Wire Outdoor Miner
Lot of brilliant stuff, this lot were around in 1979 and still playing, my all time favourites...
UK Subs, seen them loads of times
