This is one of the feature items on the front page of BBC News : Moose stabs Joe Pasquale and Gary Lineker applauded

Makes Gary sound like a right heartless bastard, unless you are not a Joe Pasquale fan I guess.

😉

Or alternatively, they're so afraid of not being seen to show 'balance' that the choice was made to not ignore it.

He had some wise words for the BBC yesterday...

He's absolutely right, of course.

If you gauge your success by the people who hate you then both Gary Lineker and the BBC are doing something right

The usual gobshites are going to be perpetually foaming at the mouth about you anyway. I see Martin Lewis and Carol Vorderman have both now also been singled out as 'woke lefties' to be castigated for pointing out the obvious

The Tufton street Tories have got it in for the Beeb, there’s a well orchestrated campaign to undermine and destroy it it because they’re ideologically opposed to it and and its one of the very few news organisations which could challenge them and hold them to account.

Once its gone people might realise what a unique and special thing we’ve lost - don’t it always seem to go, you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone!

That's a fundamental part of being a Tory MP, for sure, but to get there you've got to create the fear that allows the necessity for such odious politics. Thatcher used the idea of immigration, for example:

People are really rather afraid that this country might be rather swamped by people with a different culture.

That can also be applied to political or social views. Which is where we are today. It's a culture war, drummed up by Tory HQ, because they know their historical electorate is dying off.

It is a very clever/amazingly accidental link headline for the daily front page round up 🤣

I thought Tory playbook 101 was keep my snout in the trough to line my pockets

If you defeat your enemies the you can keep your snout in the trough without having to look over your shoulder and justify your actions.

Carol Vorderman and the wife of Captain Blimp, Felicity Cornelius are having a right ding dong on twitter, X, Musk News. I suppose his last appearance on Question Time proved Mercer must have walloped by some big rocks in Afghanistan.

Plus having equally odious individuals such as Neil Oliver on GB News encouraging such garbage.

I always rather liked the bloke, I can only imagine he was always a dick, but the lack of widespread social media never gave him the opportunity to spout such misinformation, or the source of much of it.

You do realise this is the Trump playbook, right?

George Alagiah speaking about the BBC:-

"It's a truly precious flower that we in Britain have got and I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to trample on it"
