They're back
La la laaa, la la la laaa
La la laaa, la la-la laaa!
One banana two banana three banana, four,
One banana makes a bunch and so do many more!
SIZE OF AN ELEPHANT!
That's not what I was expecting ......
That is terrible, was hoping for a little bit of my childhood being resurrected
It always found it a bit creepy now I know why.
Wtf! I have now watched the op link 😮
Haha! I knew you'd not watched it.
I remember a very different show
WTF indeed.
looks good
Don't remember them being quite so...edgy.
I wasn’t expecting that.
S’pose when you run out of ideas for a film, you pick a topic and characters that many remember and ruin all those memories..
Seems pointless.
And should go into Flashy’s thread on ruining remakes..
Still way less creepy than the British rip off version.
The Animal Kwackers.
Only Noseybonk was more disturbing....
....and Pipkins. It was pretty grim too.
Meanwhile in a studio in downtown LA, a pitch begins: ”we want to re-imagine the Monkees - it’s like the Beatles do American Psycho. Quirky musicians with dark hearts but a great back-catalog...”
Heh! Looks fun
Ear worm for the rest of the day/week though
One for eddiebaby's cult collection I reckon.
They’re back
A bit like the Poltergeist?
Edit: Actually, that was "They're here" wasn't it.
WTAF???
🤣
I’m in 🙂
I thought this would be a "Change UK/The Independent Group for Change" thread...
Far batter news instead.
One for eddiebaby’s cult collection I reckon.
Needs moar Amphicats
you pick a topic and characters that many remember and ruin all those memories..
there was never anything great to remember about the Banana Splits though - a catchy theme tune plus running around and falling over - it was just some nonsense live-action goofing as a way of linking together a disparate bunch of cartoons that were pilots for series that had failed to be commissioned. Warmed up leftovers 🙂 Not that we cared about any of that when we were kids.
I'm more concerned about the live action remake of Mr Benn where the only outfits in the shop are Gimp Suits

Does someone need a hug?
"One with a tommy gun, one with a stick, one with a hand grenade tied to his tra-la-la, la-la-la-laa"
Go get the mail Fleagle.

Nah, I’m fine.
Thanks for the offer.
Its just alienated its original audience.
🤷♂️
Its just alienated its original audience.
It's original audience are all grown up now.
It's just a parody of the show it'll probably be shit but so was the original.
In my recollection, the soundtrack for Banana Splits was always so poor I couldn’t hear the jokes. The studio audience Laughter track thought they were hillarious.
And Animal Kwackers - Good God, a bit of my childhood died when I first saw them.
Yup mine too it was awful quality so you could hardly here what was going on.
taking MUCH inspiration from the video game Five nights at Freddy's according to one of the guys here at work
a handful of guys I knew had various nicknames in line with the Banana Splits. Took me ages to find out what Snorky's real name was (Paul, I think).
You had a video from way back with Banana Splits theme as background IIRC @Drac - Glentress or similar?

Me and my brother loved it. The one that stuck his head out the clock, spun round and said "Uh Oh jungo it's Danger Island next!" I mean, you don't remember crap from 40odd years ago, but I remember loads about that. Arabian Nights.. Three Muskateers...
And the classic theme song.
looks awesome, well, as long as the tales of the arabian knights is on during the interval
Can't wait, the only real question is how much acid I should take before watching.
taking MUCH inspiration from the video game Five nights at Freddy’s
That was my thought right at the start.
@kcal I think it was Fat Tyre Festival probably have it on a hard drive somewhere as a I lost loads when my host was hacked a couple of years ago. Well remembered.
OMG. I can't quite work out whether that's going to be greatest best film ever made or a complete train wreck.
And Animal Kwackers – Good God, a bit of my childhood died when I first saw them.
I saw them live many, many years ago, probably the first "live music" I ever saw as a small child. I think I've got a signed double LP somewhere still.

No wonder you grew up to be a weirdo.....you poor damaged child. 😉
Hey film dire-wrecktorzzzz, just have the class to leave both ‘Top Cat’ and ‘The Hair Bear Bunch’ well, capice?
*Edit(has uncomfortable feeling that someone somewhen already had their evil ways with T.C? Even if so, I’m still Donna. - Donna Wanano)
just have the class to leave both ‘Top Cat’ and ‘The Hair Bear Bunch’ well, capice?
What about Hong kong Fooey?
Chorlton and the Wheelies, by Tim Burton. Now that would be DARK!
I like the look of this. 🙂
We need a new version of the old Robinson Crusoe. With Zombies.

Ohhh **** yes. Or Will o’ the Wisp.
^How would they replace Kenneth Williams?
^How would they replace Kenneth Williams?
Chris Barrie does a pretty good Kenneth Williams
Bigger question is who would voice the Chorlton characters as Joe Lynch (who voiced all the characters) is as dead as Kenneth Williams.
Chorlton was weird enough without the Burton treatment...
On the other hand, bring on an R rated The Trap Door!
“Rubbatiti! You’re alive!”
Seems we're all skirting around the concept of Magic Roundabout by either Fincher or Tarantino.
Oh, and don't start me on a Hector's House and Handmaid's Tale crossover,.
Seems we’re all skirting around the concept of Magic Roundabout by either Fincher or Tarantino.
That was already redone a few years ago.
I hear Charlie Brooker is working on a mockumentary of Jim'll Fix It.
And looking forward to Guillermo Del Toro's take on The Clangers.
Its just alienated its original audience.
I was it’s original audience; am I alienated? Nope. Please, don’t make assumptions based on your own personal view when it’s something like this.
I love the idea of an Amphicat equipped with a minigun and a bunch of homicidal furries on board!
Hey film dire-wrecktorzzzz, just have the class to leave both ‘Top Cat’ and ‘The Hair Bear Bunch’ well, capice?
Top Cat has already bin dun.
It was, as expected, horrible
I saw the SYFY at the start and wondered where I had see it before.... ah Happy!. Guess that should really have been the clue, along with the R rating.
Its just alienated its original audience.

Its the internet, I shall make any assumption I like.
Dont like it? Don’t read it.
Its my opinion, and I think that it will alienate its original audience, you may watch it I suspect plenty won’t.
HTHs.
In two minds whether this would be worth bringing back. I don't think there are enough drugs in TV/film world to do it justice now.
Seems we’re all skirting around the concept of Magic Roundabout by either Fincher or Tarantino.
I think either of them would struggle to top Buxton the Blue Cat
