All out 145 lead, can they make it?

Make us bat again? Probably.

Win? Depends on which England team come out for the second innings

Hmmm. Warner is scoring quickly though. If he does that for an hour there won't be much of a lead.

I wish England would get on with skittling the Ozzies, I'm trying to pack for holiday and the cricket is too much of a distraction.

For those who have pictures, how similar did the Marsh LBW review and then bowled look to the classic Watson dismissal?

Jimmy Anderson off the field injured, Beefy talking about an intercostal strain which will probably be 6-8 weeks. Shame if he's out for rest of series.

It really has been an odd series so far.

Us on top in the first game, utterly embarrassed in the second now back on top.

It's a game of Five Fifths isn't it.

Jimmy is officially out for Trent Bridge.

ECB statement released on Thursday morning said: “England bowler James Anderson has been ruled out of remainder of the current Investec Ashes Test with a side strain.

“Anderson will be unavailable for the 4th Test beginning on Thursday 6 August at Trent Bridge and his availability for the final Test in the series will be determined in due course.”

So how's this going to go then?

I hope we can get these last three for not many and have 50-odd to chase. More than a hundred - we're still firm favourites but it gets a bit squeaky bum. 150 - didn't something happen in 1981 between these two........

24 runs from the first 3 overs lead by 47.

There could at least have been far worse times to lose Anderson with an injury - Broad and Finn do both seem to be firing.

We seem to be letting them get away a bit here though 🙁

Is this the point at which we throw a hissy fit because someone who clearly made contact with the ball doesn't walk?

Patience is needed, don't go chasing them, just keep doing what has worked so far.

😀

Broad is probably going to keep those thoughts to himself on this occasion.

Too much triumphalism (is that the word?) for my liking at the moment. Let's get this last wicket quickly

Or a quick tenner on an Aussie win for a bit of fun?

I tried this morning, Hills were doing 20/1, but was blocked by my work server.
England were 1/100 at the time.

Just looked again, now 8/1 Aus and 1/20 England. And the bookies aren't often wrong, we're still heavily fancied but not beyond the realms that things might go tits up.

England to win by 7 or 8 wickets, on a flat pitch that the tailenders from both sides have batted comfortably on. A massive anticlimax. Cook to finish on 40-odd not out.

Never in doubt.
