What time of day was that Ton? Up near La Loire during July the Velodyssey is like the M25 at 8am weekday mornings.

11ish, after getting off the ferry from Verdun.
found the whole velodyssey route pretty quiet. we went in mid june.
Cheers, it's on the list but in May or June.
So I guess I need to repost this here then, zippykona?
After working in Seville for a few days, I decided to take the ferry over to Morocco. Was only 2 hours or so down to the port and I bought a ferry ticket by the side of the road.
After importing the bike into Morocco (where the customs official wanted to know if I was looking for a Moroccan husband - erm, no), I just had a few hours to ride down through the AMAZING countryside to Fès.
So I turned up at the GPS coordinates of the hotel I’d booked online in Fès and my first thought was “OMG you’ve really done it this time, Rachel. You’re going to die...”
After a moment or two, out popped a young guy who said to ride the bike up the alleyway and all will be fine. I guess I had no choice...
I was a tiny, tiny bit concerned by this point. I was completely on my own and getting away quickly was now somewhat unlikely!
Luckily, in the end, the place was fantastic - perfect in every way!!
This was my room...

Swindon?
Ive been dreaming of doing this walk for nearly a year. From Lac du Mines d'Or just outside Morzine to Sixt Fer a Cheval via the lac de Vogealle. It takes in a section of the tour of les Dents Blanches but more dramatically it goes over the pas du Tureau. Although a "measley" 2250m, it's a scree and cable climb over the pass to a scree descent. It's stunning.
Up the zig zag in the scree and then chained climb up the rock face to the col on the right of centre

The view back over to les Hautes Forts. The Col du Cou is way down in the bottom RH corner behind the Tete du Bostan dead ahead

8hrs from 7:30 am to beer. Only 1,500m total climb and 27km, but legs still feeling like jelly 3 days later due to brutal descent in to Sixt Fer Cirque valley via the "steep" route.
Bangkok Longtails
Probably not the best photo I took on holiday, but it's one of the only ones I've got round to editing - taken on Sony RX100v, sent to phone and edited in LR mobile.
