I'm spending Monday morning putting a power supply to the ceiling at a Pub conference room/restaurant, this is for a projector so they can screen the royal wedding.

Seems a lot of fussin' for what won't be but a day, it aint straight forward neither so won't be cheap.

That's weird right? Or is this very normal and y'all are frothing with anticipation and fixing to dance a celebration.

I'm foreign, don't get nor care for the royal thing at all (have I just said something treasonous that'll see me on the back of a plane to whence i came), maybe that'll explain it, but i thought it was a bit much.

Perhaps the landlord's wanted one for years, and it's the only way he could justify it to the landlady?

I think most people don't care, but some people are hoping to cash in on other peoples wishes to have a rejuvenation of the jubilee when everyone had street parties.

It ain't going to happen, everyone will be getting drunk on cheap Australian / European lager and after 10 pints be singing the national anthem based on some thinly veiled 'patriotism'

I'm foreign

😐 Well I wouldn't expect a foreigner to understand

But for us patriotic folk there's always a special place in their hearts for the Royal Family. For us the Royal Family is "our family" that's why a Royal Wedding is always so important to us - and I will certainly be celebrating it.

Unfortunately the special day will be tinged with sadness, as we realise that the Queen's Mum [Gawd bless her] won't be there to witness the fairytale event. And all patriotic British folk have an even more special place for the Queen's Mum [Gawd bless her] in their hearts.......she always had a smile for us during the Blitz don't you know ?

Strange thing is I didn't watch Charles and Diana, I won't be watching this one as I find it rather distasteful yet I did sit and watch Felipe and Letizia!

I think he meant it's a long walk to the gallows. But us he claims to be a foreigner, then he can't be accused of treasonous thoughts.

How foreign are you?

FWIW I also don't care much about the Royals, but I wish them no ill. Despite people often mis-hearing my surname as Cromwell.

I'm certainly no Republican, but I'm just happy to have an excuse for a day off. Other than that, not interested in it, and I was so glad to be in France when Diana was buried, to avoid all the hysteria.

I am happy with a constitutional monarchy. But I think we over indulge the "royals".
