Not sure which , went out  night fishing at full tide tonight  7.30 pm at Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower .I'd been down at low tide earlier to check out and make sure a flat ledge was above the high tide water line . Been fishing for a while , then bang -a  big wave I hadn't seen took my legs from under me and slamed me backwards on to the rocks , soaked to the skin and a few bruises and some brown adrenaline . Sat eating pizza  feeling very lucky .

Worth remembering for another time: high water mark is an average, what it doesn’t show is the four, five, six or seven foot wave that goes over that average mark. Y’know, like the one knocked you off your feet in the dark. Still, you could have had your five minutes of fame, appearing on Saving Lives At Sea.

That's just common sense and dosen't take a brain sturgeon to work it out!

At least you're still here so it wasn't a turtle disaster. Maybe take a bit of time to mullet over and stand in a different plaice next time!

Given that there have been warnings of high tides and increased sea level surges due to the low pressure weather systems id say you got off very lucky, bet you'll pay attention to the forecasts next time.

There but for the grace of Cod, it could have bream a lot worse. Hopefully next time you'll pick a safer perch.

That doesn’t sound Brill. Perhaps you were a bit of a Pollock? But still next time reel it in a bit, you Cod choose a better Plaice ?

Rogue wave strikes again!

I'm sticking to Seaham pier today, but if there's a big tide & a bit of sea running It can become awash, so we have to get off it. & it has been known...

EGF...you would let a little wave like that put you off ..I thought you were made of sterner stuff !😁

If Seaham is anything like this part of the NE today it will be almost tropical ..

Guess it wasn't the best plaice to stand. Hope you don't get eel from bream soaked through.
