Well, it's too late for the former as he's off back home. Pics:

I must add the photo's don't do the detail or the effort any justice, and excuse the unmatched stuff - still work in progress.

No worries, I guessed you were busy 🙂
Grudging approval. Yeah looks alright I s'pose...
😉
posh laminate or proper wooden floorboards?
That looks nice, will be great when you get the fitted carpets down, bare floors are so cold and noisy.
Is that beading on the sides?
(Interested in wood flooring)
Lady g - a gentleman would lay his coat down for you 😉
@ alpin - 21mm engineered Oak.
@ captain slow - yes. The skirting is original and would have made a mess of the plaster to remove as its nailed and screwed on (we've just had it skimmed) so we chose a white scotia to compliment the Victorian "shapes" at the top of the skirting.
Perhaps not perfection in flooring terms, but it's turned out ok. We'll be painting it and the skirting together to give it the complete "is one" look.

Heh.
He did the floor in Selfridges in Manchester, don't you know?
Did you find yourself swooning, and making him lots of cups of tea, while giggling and playing with your hair?

He was already nailing wood.
None of the above. We did go out to dinner together though, ya know, table for two and all that. But he left me at the hotel door :-/

It's called micro bevel... And is the style of the wood.
Kryton57 ...it was a sarcy comment 😉
That stair carpet is a disgrace 😡
Bet you haven't weeded your garden either.
Nice floor though...

Quite right, tis why it's being replaced - it's was the same throughout where the flooring is now. Look at the bottom step and you'll see even the cat doesn't like it 🙂
Back in Brizzle safe and sound. Thanks for the post Kryton. Hope the kids enjoy the floor. If you can't flog those boxes, D can always have it in his room. 🙂
Good to hear DD. I have already had to explain why you aren't here to KJ01 this morning....
That looks very nice. 🙂 Well done Mr D!

I don't normally like beading but that looks pretty darn good. Gives me something to consider but it'd be a new build so not having the fancy skirting of a victorian house.
Did he offer any special "extras"?

I went for dinner with him too. He told me I was the only one. 🙁

Did he supply the wood for them or just fit it?
