Not only a nice chap, but also not bad at nailing down floorboards as well. 😉

Seriously, a fantastic looking job, and thanks for the added value and advice. Thoroughly recommended.

Well, it's too late for the former as he's off back home. Pics:

I must add the photo's don't do the detail or the effort any justice, and excuse the unmatched stuff - still work in progress.

That looks nice, will be great when you get the fitted carpets down, bare floors are so cold and noisy.

@ alpin - 21mm engineered Oak.

@ captain slow - yes. The skirting is original and would have made a mess of the plaster to remove as its nailed and screwed on (we've just had it skimmed) so we chose a white scotia to compliment the Victorian "shapes" at the top of the skirting.

Perhaps not perfection in flooring terms, but it's turned out ok. We'll be painting it and the skirting together to give it the complete "is one" look.

He did the floor in Selfridges in Manchester, don't you know?

Did you find yourself swooning, and making him lots of cups of tea, while giggling and playing with your hair?

Quite right, tis why it's being replaced - it's was the same throughout where the flooring is now. Look at the bottom step and you'll see even the cat doesn't like it 🙂

Back in Brizzle safe and sound. Thanks for the post Kryton. Hope the kids enjoy the floor. If you can't flog those boxes, D can always have it in his room. 🙂

I don't normally like beading but that looks pretty darn good. Gives me something to consider but it'd be a new build so not having the fancy skirting of a victorian house.

Did he supply the wood for them or just fit it?
