U2 mmm pretty shit!
only to be expected 😉
I'm a U2 fan and I agree. 🙁
Is it me, or is the show a total time warp? Nothing new at all.
Nothing new at all.
I think that is the point.
Does that mean topgear will be exactly the same as well?
It really is something when take that are better than u2.
That aside I enjoyed the "blast from the past" element.

Yes and no, the themes haven't changed, the set hasn't changed but what's missing is the 'edge' (no not him) in the 90's I watched it waiting for something outrageous to happen - now it's all a bit predicable and 'nice'.
It really is something when [s]take that[/s] slaves are better than take that and u2.
FTFY 🙂
Watching Red Bull TV instead.
Watched 20 minutes then went outside to sweep the leaves up in the dark which was actually much more enjoyable than watching Channel 4 reprising something that was tired and well overdue for a change the last time round.
Evans is a quim, as are his "guests"
Mewling?
Does that mean topgear will be exactly the same as well?
What is a topgear?
This is tfi. Top gear is all still in the future.
TFI was shite first time around and seeing as Evans has been radio 2'd, it's hardly going to be any better. He is really bad at interviewing people, just terrible. Watch his style, he knows nothing about the guest without looking at his badly written q cards. He's all about the money and the fame, no content what so ever.
crap.
It's not even a real mediocre chain of American style restaurants.
no big fan of evans, but there's nothing else like it on tv, certainly not with the energy that tfi has.
Evans shouldn't have dyed his hair.
Thought it was a sanitized version of it's former self.
I watched whilst working on the kitchen so didn't really stop to watch until Slaves delivered that rather pleasant little number; very impressive.
The rest was almost cringe worthy...
Felt very tired, almost like CE was just getting a bit of TV practice/exposure in the run up to Top Gear.
Really couldn't be arsed to watch it, I got bored with it first time around, and I didn't expect it to have improved with age.
Not even for Slaves, who I've seen live twice, each time supporting the same headline act, Blood Red Shoes, and rather enjoyed. Not as much as BRS, but they were very entertaining.
And I really don't expect Evans to be any good on Top Gear; I know he's a total petrolhead, but that doesn't mean he can actually drive a car and be knowledgeable about the handling.
For my sins I read the MoS Event magazine, 'cos my dad reads the Wail, and Evans' car reviews are pretty rubbish, so I'm not holding out any hope for the new TG.
I enjoyed it first time around and did this time.
Get over yourselves. You have all grown and changed in the intervening years, which cannot be said of the format. my kids watched it and absolutely loved it. It seems to have an energy that they really picked up on, but the music (apart from the two teachers who they thought were amazing) made them leave the room.
If you don't like Chris Evans you could always not watch it. It looks like a lot of people liked it though and my kids are watching some of the old antics on YouTube. 😉
I enjoyed it, and my Mrs who can vaguely remember it first time round loved it too, roll on the next 9
When are they found to bring back The Word? Now there was a Friday night TV show.
It's better than half the shite that's on on a Friday

I didn't like it back in the day; if I watched at all it was for the music and not the childish antics in between. If your kids enjoyed that stuff but shunned the music then maybe you should introduce them to Cheggers Plays Pop or the godawful Runaround.
I can only assume Take That's performance was Mark Owens way of coming out the closet??
This all part of the realisation that modern terrestrial telly is now pants.
Netflix replaces it for me. I sit down now to see what's on Netflix not BBC/CH4 - ITV was outcast ages ago.
Amazing Spaces is okay though 😉

This for me. I enjoyed it, it was fine but it lacked a spark, an edge maybe, It needs to be on post-watershed and involve more beer and more swearing.

This.
For it to be any good, kinda like BITD, it needs to be on at 1030pm and get all sweary and Northern. That format worked, this doesn't it's far too early in the evening. Too sanitised and too formulaic, scripted beyond belief.
If it's meant as a Kids/Yoof show then Chris needs to hang up his earphones and get Grimmy in, or some other annoying R1 idiot. Think then it could, just could somewhat represent a programme that many of us BITD used to enjoy, well partly anyways. I'd hazzard a guess even back then we found a few of the programmes dull beyond belief, and continued to drink a few more glasses of wine, I know I/We did.
It needs a spark, a spark of originality, thats whats missing. Chris needs the youth in, the smart App developers and Hipsters of London could come up with something pretty sharpish if he's interested. As is it's trying to capture us old gits and da yoof at the same time, and fails IMO.
as a ginger haired spectacle wearer I spent the late 90's having 'oi Evans!' shouted at me
Since his return to TV it's started again and for this reason I can't stand the ginger tosser
Who was that band? Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Awesome!!!! Never heard of them before.
And then we get Bieber, what a bore!
Will is looking niiiccee.
Proper shite, lasted 5 mins then turned over to watch London 6 Days...
Macklemore was the bloke who did the Thrift Shop song (NSFW)

I liked it first time round. This time round it seems a bit like some in joke I don't quite get. Which probably shows my age.
