"The woodcutters tale"
Whilst out working a couple of Saturday's ago after another very windy night, my colleague and I had received instructions to deal with a large windblown tree across a rural road between two local towns.
On arrival and prior to starting to cut we put out a call for a machine to be sent out, to allow us to move the heavier bits from the highway quickly. As we were waiting and writing up our RA's we noticed one of the lower branches had been hit by a vehicle and pieces of a grill including a VW badge lying smashed on the road. We were both quite bemused how anyone could not see a large tree across the road.
Anyway, after clearing that one up we spent the rest of the morning all over the shire dealing with more of the same. One of the later jobs had us back out to that end of the County and as we drove up and into a town at the end of the previously mentioned road, guess what we saw?
Okay it had been a wild night, rain, wind, but it's a wee, twisty, poorly surfaced country road, what speed do have to be going not to see a huge big Beech tree across the carriageway.

Sicktree miles an hour.
Looks like the AA may need to branch out a bit
i hope he's logged a claim with his insurance company.
Probably best not to leaf that there
He's gonna get a grilling when his boss sees that

His bark is worse than his bite. It's the branch head he needs to be worried about.
He couldn't see the wood for the trees.
speed's definitely at the root of all this - let's hope his insurer doesn't twig
There is a chance it actually fell in front of him giving him no to avoid.
Blimey ! If a tree fell into the road in front of the van, no wonder it's not looking too chipper
Nasty could of lost a limb
