Does anyone know about these ongoing equal pay claims?
I have a family member at Tesco, in the case of a win, do they:
Need to join the claim to benefit (25% of the claim would be taken as a fee by the solicitors)
Automatically get paid out along with all eligible staff along with employees signed up to the claim.
Be able to apply for compensation after the action wins because a precedence is set.
Thanks 🙂
If a court states they have to pay a certain amount then everyone in that role receives that amount. The court would also decide on back pay issues.
If its already at court, don't sign up to anything, it's too late and it could cost you.
Thanks Damascus 🙂
i dont know why anyone would want the same pay as me, when i worked for asda. less than a grand a month, late shift. and i havent been a school leaver for 40+ years
Looks like it won't be concluded for some time yet...

The legal test for comparability is only the first of three stages within Asda's overall pay claim, which is expected to take several years to conclude.
The claim is for the predominantly female retail staff to be paid the same as the better paid and predominantly male warehouse/distribution staff.
However I left about 18 years ago so I doubt I'm eligible!
Yep it'll be a fair few years I think, but of course the law firms are signing people up like crazy on the off chance they can cash in.
