I'm looking to get a tequila-loving friend a bottle of something nice for her 30th birthday. I've heard that Patron is really nice, but it's a bit too spendy for me. Ideally looking for something around £30-35. Any suggestions?

Can't recommend anything, but the above statement is true.

Patron is the Specialized of the tequila world - good but omnipresent and overpriced. Maybe this? http://www.thedrinkshop.com/products/nlpdetail.php?prodid=1061

I'd be going with Patron... It's universally liked by almost everyone let alone people who like tequila.

Safe bet.

Don Julio is the doggies IMO, much nicerer than patron, but patron Anejo is lovely.

Don julio Blanco (White clear) can be had for £32 ish, reposado (reserve) £38+, Anejo (Aged - the smoothest and best), £42+

Herradura isn't bad too, and this Reposado is good for £36:

Don Julio is what I normally drink... Where are you getting the blanco for £32? To OP, if you can get that one in budget then it will not disappoint!

Thanks all. Having looked into it a bit more, it seems Don Julio, Herradura or Cazadores would all be safe bets. Would obviously like to get anejo, but may end up going with a reposado just to keep the cost down.

This one looks interesting: http://www.thedrinkshop.com/products/nlpdetail.php?prodid=5879

Where are you getting the blanco for £32?

...you cant, I just google shopping searched an it came up, but with £20 shipping! Didnt notice that the 1st time.

My wife is on business a lot in California, so I usually get a bottle of something from each trip, much cheaper than UK prices.

Cazadores is quite nice, as is Cabo Wabo.....

Jose Cuervo reserva de la familia is one of my favorites, but its a bout £80 a bottle, but the packaging is nice and colorful....
