Looking to update the generic 2 man dome tent to something a bit more comfortable for weekends away with the missus. Budget is £150 tops
Was thinking of something like the vango icarus 300 3 man tent, seems to have a good balance of features, though a bit extra headroom would be great
Any other to look out for?
If she had her way i'd be lugging round a 5 man 20kg tent
If it's for car transport, check out Khyam tents. They go up really quick due to the main structure being integrated poles that you just click straight. Our monster family tent (sleeps 5 + living area) goes from bag to fully standing, guyed and pegged in about 5 minutes. Probably a bit pricier than the other options but might just make your budget.
quick pitch certainly is a tempting feature
quechua stuff from decathlon is the way to go.
those throw up in the air and it's up tent are brill for weekends away.
Outwell are good value tents. If you're happy with last years model, they can be had quite cheaply too. Good quality and reasonably priced.
Edit: Just had a quick google and their prices seem to have gone up somewhat.
Found these though: Outwell Fusion and the Outwell Oakland
Decathlon 2second tent and the not quite 2second dining shelter.
Have a look at a Vango Orchy. We use this for family weekends away. Ideal and takes 10-15 mins to put up.
We have a used 4 times Hi Gear Mojave 5 for sale. Its a spacious 5 berth but we found it perfect for 2 adults and 1 6yr old. Loads of space. Sewn in groundsheet. EHU port. 2(3+2 berth)sleeping compartments and giant living area.
No rips/tears or broken bits. Goes up in 20mins with a bit of practice.

I've got one of these too, bought at Go Outdoors for a comedy price (I think I paid £150 for it). Only used a couple of times so far but, despite my reservations over the brand when I bought it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Plenty of room and well designed.
Yup thats what we found.
Initially we were a bit brand snobby but its been watertight, snug and a breeze to put up. Great value. Just treated ourselves to an Outwell so its surplus to reqs now.
